>working on a group project in college
>these dorks start talking about AI and how it will replace blue collar workers
>"That's stupid, office jobs will sooner get replaced by AI"
>They laugh at me
Who's laughing now
>>
blue collar is like slave labour anyway
i don't get why anyone would want to work that kind of job.
>>
I don't think we'll ever see a robot doing what i did today at work.
>>
>>85580763
im a welder and our company is drowning in work we cant go on vacation cuz theres so much fucking work its unreal i dont understand all this yapping how genz cant find work
>>
>>85580774
i got to listen to my playlist all day while gluing pipes together and drilling holes, it was honestly a lot of fun.
>>
>>85580774
Because it's an actual skill that you can become an expert at and that carries over to other areas, is actually useful to society/other people, keeps you physically strong, and makes the work day pass quickly. Basically the opposite of white collar "work" in all regards
>>
>>85580784
Your boss is employing half the people and getting twice the labour lol you're being ripped off
>>
>>85580763
Blue collar is basically impossible to fully replace by AI just because of how architecture is designed around human maneuverability unless they can fully replicate the scale of human movement which is near impossible

There will always be a need for a human somewhere doing something

Even if it's just maintaining or working the robotic systems in case it breaks down

Somethings blue collar I could see being semi replaced by AI automated robotics would be

Truckers maybe also factories so something like most of warehouse work and transportation

Even with those I still think there will be humans around because we need humans to make sure everything's going right
>>
>>85580802
On the other hand White collar is definitely going to be replaced fully or to the absolute limit of near fully within the next 10 years

Any office work or managerial work or basically anything where your pay to sit down on a computer will be replaced by the computers you're using right now just with an AI plugged in
>>
>>85580784
Because Millennials and Zoomers have been conditioned to believe they HAVE to go to college and get into student debt for a meme degree.
They scoff at trade shools, it's "beneath" them.
>>
>>85580788
so true. I've worked both, and whenever i talked about my white collar job to people i felt like i was explaining a scam, and when people i used to know hear i'm a plumber now they reach out to me because I can do something that they need to get done. I have saved myself thousands of dollars doing stuff in my own home because I know how to do it. Also, I learn a little about carpentry too while I'm on the job so I can tackle even more DIY projects beyond just fixing my plumbing problems and boiler problems.
>>
>>85580795
he pays good money and i like working there
>>
>>85580774
Depends on the work, but being a carpenter is alot more enganging and even fun than my old office job, the latter was truly life draining, the same brainless routine over and over.
>>
>>85580785
>>85580788
meh, slave labour
i would rather do important things, like working on scientific research. Too bad i don't have the brains for it.
>>
>>85580840
>i would rather do important things
i bet you would think a plumber is important when your boiler goes out in January.
>>
>>85580840
>i would rather do important things, like working on scientific research.
90% of scientific research is a scam
>>
>>85580869
>90% of scientific research is a scam
sounds like slave cope
>>
sure lot of talk about slave labor from a guy who wants to be a slave for big pharma
>>
>>85580970
scientific research is not just big pharma, though creating new ways to control the goycattle does have its appeal. Too bad i don't have the brains for it though.
>>
>>85580979
spend all day putting samples in little vials and then putting them in the fridge, reading numbers off a machine that you don't understand how it works, and then sit in meetings for 2 hours. That's real impactful stuff those scientists do. Meanwhile I'm turning old dumpy buildings into a place where someone can live.
>>
>>85580996
You never worked in a lab. Making chemicals is fun.
>>
>>85580979
>scientific research is not just big pharma
True, it's also bunk sociology and humanities crap whose only purpose is to subvert western institutions.
>>
>>85581129
those aren't even real sciences, anon
try harder.
>>
>>85581005
My dad worked in a lab and he took me there many times growing up.
>>
>>85581155
clearly not for practice
>>
>>85581160
obviously nobody is going to let a 10 year old play with chemicals in a lab brother
>>
I work as an engineer in an office. I find it very boring, but I dont dare to quit precisely because AI has terminated employment for everyone who is not a senior.
Id rather do manual stuff, but the pay and benefits are shit, not to mention the health cost and retirement options
>>
>>85581174
I rest my case. You're simply jealous that you were never able to play around with chemicals and such. Even with my own limited cerebral ability i was able to complete 2 years in a chemistry course. I still have this little crystal like polymer compound i made back then. It has lost its colour but i'm still proud of it.
>>
>>85581191
yeah I took a few chemistry courses at uni and have since done stuff in a lab, and I play around with chemicals at my current job all the time
>>
>>85581200
if you hate your job so much then we should switch brains. I would put your cranium to much better use.
>>
>>85581208
nah i'm good i like my job, and if you had my brain you would too.
>>
>>85580970
"""science""", "research" and "academia" in general are literally goofier than clown school in the big 2026.
>>
>>85581222
well I would like it even with my under-developed simpleton brain. Too bad it's so dull.
>>
>>85580883
It is.
t. Academic
>>
>>85580774
It very much IS slavery, but:
1. Most if.these fags ARE slaves, so they defend slavery (genetics+conditioning)
2. Almost all jobs are slavery.
>>
>>85580840
>can't do shit yet acts smug about it
Yep I'm on r9k
>>
>>85581402
well at least i'm not delusional that being a slave is cool
>>
>>85580834
Blue collaroids think 60k a year is good money.
My mom makes 130k a year working at home.
>>
>>85581399
Working is not slavery, but the fact that jews control all central banks in every country and murder anyone who tries to create their own bank and issue their own currency, and force every population of every country to pay the interest rate of the loans given to governments to pay for welfare through taxes IS slavery. This is a problem with the jews, not working.
>>
>>85580763
I love the irony, I remember so many people telling me to not go into certain fields
