I'm 35y/o and still too afraid to drive. I have my license, but I hate every second of being in a car. How did Anons get over their fear of driving? I feel like when I'm behind the wheel - I'll kill someone.

>>85596820same, but it's pretty simple. drive on empty country roads with little people till you're comfortable with it and move up from there. The nature will inherently calm you down.

He screamed at me to drive him despite only haven gotten my permit like a week before and had a total of 15 minutes behind the wheel. I had to back out of the driveway, it was too narrow to turn around. not to mention the driveway was uphill from where I was and upaved gravel. then I took the highway to our beloved shitslop shop. he would also make comments during my driving like >anon, we're going at 60mph. if we crash into that other car over there, we would surely die. Isn't that scary?so yeah after a few lessons like that I got less anxious. got my license first try too.

I had the same anxiety around driving that you had and lived in a big city so I didn't need to learn how to drive, but now unfortunately I do. I'm enjoying it a lot and I regret not getting it done sooner. My advice is to learn in an automatic - they tried teaching me in a manual several times and I hated it because it was too much to focus on at once as I was driving to drive.

I used to have to drive a big truck and id do it faded often so i would be spookedHug the left line so you dont hit anything on the right and its easier to see the left. Dont tailgait. Let fast cars go past you if they try and its safe to. Get a back up camera for parking if that freaks you out. If you almost hit someone calm down it happens to the best (the almost not the actual hitting)
