I have never been so angry and humiliated in my entire life.I just came back from a charity bachelor auction with the idea being that we were being "bought" as dinner dates for the early evening. When I signed up I was told that we would have a list of questions we would submit answers for and they would be read out. We would also be assigned and additional date night randomly which would be announced with us. People would then bid on us and the date night together (but would get the date night even if we don't even up liking each other). Great, people will bid even if they don't much care for me because charity and date night at whenever regardless. A respectful fun evening. No, not at all.I submitted my answers and the day came. Most everyone at the auction knew each other aside from me. I am asocial so mingling is not my forte. I wanted to find someone that desired me based on my appearance and my answers to the questions. The first guy was called up and the first hiccup showed its face: dates were not assigned to the bachelors at all. They went through every question for him, and then he was coaxed to take off his shirt and dance like a stripper, which being the outgoing guy he was, he did. He was then asked a couple innane questions from the girls. The strip, the dance, nor the questions were ever mentioned anywhere. There was also no bidding yet. They went through a few more guys and most of them stripped and danced. They stopped taking audience questions and the amount of info they gave about each guy dropped like a stone. It came to me, so I went up there and they said two of the ten questions I answered, was coaxed very briefly to dance or strip and I didn't.
>>85609614Oof that's unlucky bro. Get yourself some cans and ciggies, anon. In fairness though you put yourself out there. Unfortunately we have to accept and expect rejection as men, but it's a numebrs game. At least you've got big balls.
why didnt you just leave when you saw what was going on
They went through the rest of the guys and then they called each of us back up one for one in bidding, which they are going off of basically fucking nothing. Just appearance and a tiny number of random questions; and the women are no longer bidding of a date too, cause we aren't paired with them anymore, they are bidding right on us. It comes to my turn one of the guys hosting jokes about me standing more out front, the "meat" needs to be on display. I was quite uncomfortable to say the least. The bidding goes down and down and down until someone bids so like 10 bucks. A couple others bid small amounts. It's too fast for me to see any of them. Then a woman in a wheelchair bids. She is physically handicapped and looks to me mentally handicapped, in an electric wheelchair. She is just about the ugliest woman I have seen. Teeth like chicklets with giant caps and overlapping, cross-eyes out to the side bulging and red, and fat to top it off, clad in sweat pants and a sweat shirt. She bid a relatively small amount compare to what others won on, and won, the other girls not bothering to outbid. And why would they, they knew practically nothing about me.So I walk over and give the woman the rose for the evening with me.And then the next guy comes up, and she starts bidding on him too, in a bidding war with another woman that was fat but looked very cute. Eventually the girl I was with said she'd do 500 bucks if he gave her a lap dance too. So he was sold to her and he gave her a lap dance, taking off his shirt, and grinding on her.The other girl in the bidding war was offered to match the peice and get the same and she did.
So the mentally physically handicapped girl paid 50 bucks for me and 500 bucks for the other guy and a lap dance. At this point I was solmn but I was fucking pissed. I talked to the woman for a little bit and she had no idea what she was even bidding on, just some anomalous idea of going on a date with us. Not her fault because the venue didn't explain it AT ALL. I bought her a drink and she asked if I'd go with her somewhere else since she couldn't eat much there, and I turned her down. She asked why and I told her it was mostly because she got a lap dance from the other guy. She seemed nice enough and I felt sorry for her, but fuck me she was truly undateable. Eventually one of the host came around and handed her two of the dates. She asked if I'd go with her to one and I said no, but they are hers and she could take whoever she wants.I was kind, but fuck I was and am so angry. After a while I told her I felt sick, which I did and still do, apologised and wished her a good evening.I drove home is such an unbelieveable rage. I have gotten sad before and wanted it to stop, felt like I should hurt myself. I feel so wronged, and fell like a lot of the guys there were wronged too, and the girls that had no fucking clue what they were even bidding on.Such a fucking shit show and a waste of an afternoon.
>>85609657When they started stripping I was going to, but some of them weren't and I guessed that was fine. I didn't realise all the questions weren't having their answers said because I was at the back of the room and could barely hear the mc.The date part I figured was going to come when the bidding came, but it never did, and by the time I knew that I was already "introduced". Walked away after that would be mean, especially since it's for charity.
In case anyone thinks this is an attempted copypasta or something, it genuinely isn't. I just went through this. I got dressed in my good fucking dress pants and shirt and polished my late dad's dress shoes up aince I didn't have any in good condition, and drove half an hoir to a restaurant I have no interest in with the intent to find a date with someone physically attracted and interested in me, and this was what I got.
Brutal. If we didn't get a gf by the time we were 20, it was never going to work out for us.
I'm glad I have self awareness not to attend social events unless it's like a funeral or something
bro thought this was a real thing where you could actually meet someonelife isn't a movie where you're magically just not asked out because you like wear a sweatshirt and glassesyou either got in when you were growing up or you didn'tif you can't figure out the social stuff in your adult life to the point where you can realize on your own what a charity auction for bachelors is then that's on you
Only thing that comes to my mind reading this is that if you weren't actually super hopeful that something will come out of this you would either leave instantly or have a laugh at how stupid this was. You are only mad cause you were hopeful and I don't think there really is a place a social reject can go to find a girlfriend. Those just happen to normal people in their everyday life.
>>85609672>clad in sweatpantsIt was this point at which I realized there are too many red flags and thus this is a fake story. And now I don't care
>>85610163Why would one write a long story about being an autist who doesn't get social cues and conventions?
>>85610180I fucking wish, my friend. I. Fucking. Wish. I am struggling to get dinner down right now, I feel ill thinking about it.
>>85610154Indeed. I was under the impression this was something real. A flip on the head of men asking out women.I do feel really bad for that woman too cause she spend 550 bucks wothout knowing what she was getting outside of a lapdance.
Yeah this might come across as retardedly autistic but as soon as the first guy had gone off stage and I realized what was going on I would just walk out the door. What a strange, fucked up idea. Humiliate / harass random men for money (which they won't even get), pretending it's a slave auction. Ridiculous
>>85610580It was prepositioned as something very different than what it turned out to be, certainly.
Maybe I'm sheltered but damn, I've never heard of a bachelor auction before, but that sure sounds... like something from a more primitive society, not in the red blooded Ya-Knighted States. guess I'm wrong
>get dressed up>wearing your dead fathers dress shoes>show up at the place>its some dystopian feminist slave auctionBeing disgraced while wearing those shoes demands satisfaction.
>>85610926I hadn't either. I was really hoping it was just going to be women bidding on a date with a guy. I live in cottage country so I figured they have money and there's a lot of charity stuff around here. Even if is was someone 10 years older than me, at least we could take and eat and I could have a chance to socialise. It was nothing remotely close. It very quickly devolved into men being sold for their bodies and confidence alone. Very demoralizing.>>85610939>The_Only_Thing_They_Fear_is_YOU.mp3
poor wheelchair chicki mean it sucks for you too but damn
>>85609614Bro. What did I just read? What kind of charity auction was this?
>>85609728I think I may have taken the disabled girl on a single platonic date just to be nice to her. She probably doesn't get guys asking her out that often, if at all, so it'd probably mean a lot to her if a guy actually took her out.
>>85611147Would you really have though
>>85611178nta, i would consider and then reject it because im a pussy bitch and not a truly compassionate personi would then narcissistically guilt trip myself about it and wallow in self-pity
>>85611147That's pity and stringing her along. I didn't want to do that to her. The other guy gave her his number and she's gunna fucking dream about her prince charming rubbing up on her til the cows come home.I don't know, maybe that is better for her to live in that lie, but to me it's better to just say no. I was pursuing a girl for 6 months until a few days ago when she threatened to file a harassment suit claiming she said she wasn't interested from the beginning when she never once did. I fucking wish she did so I could just have moved on.
>>85611178I don't know. Can anyone ever know for certain what they would do in a hypothetical situation that may never happen? It would certainly be a nice thing to do for her. I'm sure it would be a high point for her. And it's not like you have to kiss her or anything. You just have to be a gentleman and give her a fun date. Special needs and disabled people don't get opportunities that often, so it'd be nice for her.
>>85611202it's not stringing her along if you actually try to be her friend and she understands that there will never be anything romantic between youyou obviously can't force a friendship either but hanging out casually like getting lunch and so on is how friendships form
>>85611208Perhaps. It's over now. As said, I was incensed. I was gentle but I just wanted out of there. Still feel like shit and am upset, but my anger is gone.
>>85611215yea im not judging you man. i would have almost certainly done the same in your position.
>>85611193Yeah I thought I'd do the same thing.
>>85611205Yeah, she might have just been looking for a fun time, and me being focuses on finding a relationship figured she was looking for the same thing, but I guess maybe I shouldn't have after the lap dance. It is shitty for her, but I was really not looking to "have fun" like some of the other guys there. Maybe the other guy will humour her.
>>85611202Damn i remember you from the other thread you made a little while ago now. Sounds like you're having a tough time lately...
