My life is incredibly turbulent right now, but long-run, I see myself stably caring for dying people and then probably jobless subsistence farming till I get killed. Short-run, I see AI as being just a downward pressure on entry-level hiring, which helped to raped me, but overall, it's not that bad for the world. Long-run, I see AI as an existential threat to our way of life. I think American prosperity peaked sometime in 2022, right when the mass layoffs began, and it's been continuously downhill since Trump got into office for the second time. The economy will steadily get worse, it may get a little better if we get some FDR-level radical candidate, but more likely it'll just be a hopefully slower decline, then when a sufficiently good AI gets released, 100s of millions of jobs will rapidly become automated. There won't be enough AI supervisors or datacenter technicians to replace these jobs. The massive labor surplus will collapse wages, collapse demand for most work, depress worker hours, and median quality of life will rapidly collapse.Pray you can be a caretaker for dying people before that gets replaced by robots, and then you have the rest of your life to live off your investments and whatever the government feels like throwing at you to prevent civil war. I will try to live with my parents and save as much as I can until then.

I dont understand how anyone can be optimistic when so few things actually improve and most things get worse. Success stories are mostly made off the suffering of others and/or from finding exploits in society. I believe most world issues stem from overpopulation but no one wants to even talk about that let alone do anything about it. People only want to breed and bring more sufferers into a dying world.
You have to at least wait to see what AI dystopia will come.
