You can see the trend in east asian games as well. Like just take a look at Crimson Desert, Lies of P or Tides of Annihilation (Korean and Chinese games). I agree there's a certain realistic anime look that's more like a doll but still meant to be asian like a lot of Final Fantasy games or Stellar Blade for example, but even there you have newer entries with characters are meant to be white even if they have the same doll stylization, like Final Fantasy 16. I guess the same thing applies to anime, where certain stuff is meant to be obviously Japanese/asian while other stuff is meant to be European/white. Even in characters like Naruto who despite the blonde hair would look more like one of your average cosplaying Japanese dudes, but then you have stuff like some Ghibli movies (Kiki's, Howl's, Porco Rosso) or stuff like Violet Evergarden that's clearly meant to be white characters and settings. The look they go for is definitely not your average western beauty look, but much more on the softer side. At least for women. But definitely not you Margot Robbie look but more your Slavic doll model look.
