>Oh you can't talk to people and are a social retard?>Just get a social job broMight be the dumbest advice for a social autist to take. I took that to heart and got a sales job. After talking to literally probably 1k strangers, all it did was make me more inhibited. Since I was just shooting my shot randomly, cold approaching strangers, I'm also just randomly getting brutal rejections. And so after a while I became more inhibited cause I started being more wary of the possibility of rejection (punishment) that could come from interactions. And since the behaviors I was trying out weren't really controlled, I didn't get any real feedback on how to adjust my behavior. It's funny being a social retard and choosing sales as a job cause it's just getting reminded of your retardation every single day
I grew up with an autistic. I wouldn't call him a friend, but he was friends with my friends. He went into sales, and was wildly successful because he was such an asshole.
>>85718718That's really diving into the deep end. I ran tech support for systems manufacturer and did about 4 trade shows and training seminars a year. Talking to people, on a professional level, about technical details was really in my wheelhouse. I never could've done cold-call sales.
>>85718766It's really pretty easy, I was just a defective who lasted a little too long somehow. The requirements for cold call sales are being able to breathe, read and write
>>85718833...and bullshit. I've known a lot of outside sales reps and the successful ones all share that in common.
