>Fresh out of college
>Apply to jobs
>Second place that interviews me wants to hire me
Did I get insanely lucky or is everyone exaggerating how hard it is to get a job?

what country is that?
I can't comment on college/Uni degrees because I don't have one but if you have no education or a shit one it's near impossible to get hired without contacts or constant struggle and insane level of applications or shit like that

also, are you Brown/Black/Any other non white? are you a woman?

If you are white + straight + male yeah I would say you are lucky, unless you are in a field with extreme shortages

it's near impossible to get a dead end job without contacts here for me I swear

The people who complain about the job market are mostly the chronically unhireable.

I think it depends. You got lucky, but it's not as bad as the internet will lead you to believe.

Think about those guys who cry they get no matches on dating apps, then post their profile and they're some overeeight schlubby male feminist loser with a profile talking about how much they love the office and hate "sportsball". It's the same with people who put out like 800 applications and then cry on the internet after getting no interviews. They're probably retarded or extremely unqualified.

Ive job hopped twice in the last two years (IT, from support to admin to cloud ops) and it was quasi effortless both times. First job I wanted to leave, started sending applications, and within 2 months had two offers on the table. Second time I was actually headhunted by some recruiting firm. This is in a state with a probably bottom 5 job market nationally.

Also a lot of the complaints online are indians.

I have a master's degree and some experience so I think that helped.

Can't deny there's a degree of luck in it. No clue what people that go through hundreds of applications are doing wrong, maybe that they do everything online when as with everything else, face to face gives you a lot more chances of success

>Get hired the second I get my degree
>As a software dev
