How hard is Blender, anons? Do you need to be high IQ to use it? Do I need to be a talented artist/sculptor to even make use of it? Is it pointless to start in yours 30s?

I was wondering if I could make some Ratboy Genius-tier things, or if I need years of experience just to get to that point. I can only draw stick figures.

theres a learning curve for sure. if you want to make ratboy genuines you would need to learn sculpting and texturing. model rigging. then animation principles which is an entirely different discipline from 3d modeling. and using blender youre going to run into errros and glitches like any computer software so youll need to be savvy to figure out issues that will come up. its worth try because its a lot off fun though. but if you think you're going to be making anything at all in your first after noon trying then think again

I wasn't even thinking about the animation part but it's discouraging to hear I can't make anything at all in the short term. My attention span is shot and if I can't see results quickly, it's going to be very difficult to have motivation. Damn.

anyone can learn to use a tool anon. unironically the barrier of entry is just familiarity. its overwhelming at first because everything is new, but once you know what buttons to press and which function does what it becomes easy. remember that even the biggest retards in the world can learn to operate a crane or a other complex equipment. coming up with original and novel ideas for things to create is another thing entirely, but you can easily learn to use the software
i believe in you anon

you can download rigged models to animate. many pretty good ones. Idfk how to get animation to look good though. Something about f curves, however the fuck those work

Just do the donut tutorial and you'll learn all the foundations. Where you go from there is up to you though. If you aren't creative then the tool you're using isn't going to matter.
