Women take this amazing lifehack for granted, but I think many men don't even realize that it's an option.

rn i got a really short haircut (business decision) but when i used to have it long i would dry it with a towel and then wear a beanie for like 40 minutes.
>>
I don't care that much. Even with long hair it doesn't take all that long to dry naturally, so I don't get cold going outside regardless. Not sure why I would want to blow-dry it, I'm not in so much of a rush that I need to leave my apartment within ten minutes of stepping out of the shower.

i used to because if i just let it air dry it would look greasy. it looks natural if i air dry it now tho so i just do that if i shower the night before. but if i shower in the morning and i have to leave in the next hour or so i will use a hairdryer.

useful in winter with lower back length hair as a dude, not really in summer. Currently drying my hair actually, I use a diffuser but I let it 80% naturally dry but I find due to its thickness its very hard to get the rest dry so the drier helps
>>
Are there any downsides?
>>
>>85723429
yes. I have hard water and the dryer seems to help keep my hair from getting mineral-y. If I towel try my hair, even using shampoo and conditioner, if I just towel dry the hard water makes my hair both thebworst kind of dry yet also greasy? Hard water hair.
>get a softner
Yeah I dont have 3k for a Culligan system like that rn. But yesz soft water from hard water will change your life. My shower head has calcium buildup and I need ti squeegee the tiles otherwise they get hard water soots which are dsmn near impossible to remove even with CLR chemicals if you let them stain for too long.
>This is what's in my hair - and the hair dryer seems to help. Posting for all hard water anons out there.

If you're careless with the max-heat setting, you can damage your hair. Keep a safe distance and use "warm" instead of "hot" and it's fine.

I am neither of those people and I've never been to a wedding due to never having a family dynamic which would allow for such event, or being invited to any. I bet they are fun though.

>tfw live in a soft water area

also stop using towels, causes damage, use 100% cotton t shirts and be gentle
>>
What is the benefit of doing this? I'm ok with my hair being wet for a while.

Styling, for one.

Hair dryers make my hair frizzy, I sometimes style my curls with a diffuser attatchment, but using heat tools regularly is damaging to your hair so I usually let it air dry.

I keep my hair short because I can't stand long hair in the heat and humidity.
