I just realized the 9001 in robot9001 is just an "over 9000!!!" reference. Ive browsed this board since 2015 and /b/ before that since 2011 and didnt know that. Literally just now realized that immediately before typing all this out, like mere seconds before

It's an XKCD reference. The original was called Robot 9000, this board is based off that idea. Granted that's probably got something to do with the over 9000 thing but I'm pedantic so there you go.

It's because moot is a fag and deleted /r9k/ after everyone was shitting on him for taking a girl on a date to McDonald's. He eventually brought it back but incremented the number by one.
Also in the Japanese version he doesn't say it's over 9,000. Lazy/dumb translators just struggle with basic fucking numbers and screwed up the dub.
