Lot of people's jobs really seem like they're not needed. I use to work at a university lab and they had staff who would manually enter data from paper to computer despite fact OCR exists. I work at a hospital now and most of non medical staff either do nothing or handle busy computer work that one person could take care of instead pf whole team. They essentially manually enter stuff on computer , fax it to pharmacies or other hospital departments and update patient information. They're getting paid 50-70k doing this work which could easily be done by AI.

So much of economy seems like adult daycare where boomers and women are given tasks that makes them feel important. Do we need these jobs?

It does not matter if you are actually working at a job, it is important however that you appear to be working in a performative manner
The only reason why America has not collapsed yet is because so many normies have jobs where they do nothing or it is easy

A lot of companies create ghost jobs too that never get filled because of some reason I frogot but the more people they can employ the better it looks or something to investors who think their company is growing https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/careers/ghost-job-ads-are-getting-so-bad-that-lawmakers-want-to-ban-them-2580bc3e

You are correct.

However, you can choose what you want goycattle normies to:
(1) Receive UBI and cause problems for everybody else by binge drinking, taking drugs and partying 24/7
(2) Make them do a useless job they are getting the same money for, tiring them out so they don't act out and can feel like they do something useful (they aren't)
(3) Not receive any money because they can't do anything useful, causing riot, conflict, homelessness and economic decline

Obvious choice is (2). Same will happen during the AI transition, more useless jobs, like people sitting in offices pressing buttons, UBI causes to many issues with normiecattle.

You cannot cut their money supply as that'd cause riots and economic collapse. Money needs to flow into businesses by buying products.

How is economy afloat? You go outside and you see thousands of cars on streets going about their day doing job that if it disappeared Tomorrow wouldn't affect the world in any meaningful way.

Data entry fag here. OCR is still shit technology. The files I commonly scan many times I have to correct at least 10% of it. That's despite that most of these are originally typed, printed just for something thst had to be handwritten, then scanned back in.

A previous job I had three years ago was scanning and editing state tax forms so the computer can do the math etc.. A shit ton of people still write their own taxes, hence my job. I never calculated the error rate, but I woukd estimate it to be 20%. Despite it being low, that's still unacceptable as a person who isn't meticulous can easily add or subtract a number and throw everything off which could lead to an audit. That, of which, wastes the person's and state's time.

Also: use software to file electronically or go to a place that will do your taxes. Holy shit, stop handwriting your taxes. I swear the overwhelming majority of tax errors are the ones who still handwrite them.

They create fake job listings with shit pay and ridiculous requirements (credentials, years of experience) so they can claim they NEED foreign scab labor imported because AW GEEZ SHUCKS so I just couldn't fill the job locally
>>
Apparently you don't do med records. I, for example, have to scan in MARs all the time, which are still commonly handwritten. Doctors, PAs, NPs etc still do handwritten notes, and since they're always in a hurry, their handwritting is sloppy to the point the OCR program cannot recognize the letters.

People who think AI isn't good enough to read hand written notes when AI companies have essentially mastered it to point they can read papyrus papers that are sealed.

Not saying useless meme jobs don't exist but some jobs might be more important than you realize. DOGE gutted a lot of critical jobs and we are seeing the repercussions of that.

Also in a world where income is necessary for survival, it is cruel to completely bar people from work opportunities. Which is what significant job cuts are leading to and eventually people can't simply find somewhere else to work because there isn't any work.
>>
I fucking wish my job was a meme...I am so fucking tired of working.
I want to stay home, play videogames/engage with my hobbies and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist until I die.

>good enough to read hand written notes
It is powered by AI. Maybe if yoy'd kniw about OCR technology, it already used AI far before the AI boom to learn what each letter is. The state that got the licence for the AI, hopefully to lessen errors. As I said: it still had a significant error rate.

>hand written notes
Dude, you have not seen how bad someone's handwriting can be. Even a very advanced AI like in Flock cameras have a 30-70% error rate just reading licence plates. In LLMs, the AI can often hallucinate, like the whole US almost starting WW3 against China several weeks ago. The US military has technology that is usually 5 years ahead than that is available to the public.

AI is nowhere as good as AIfags make it out to be. Yes, it is getting a lot better, but it still nowhere as good as AIfags make it out to be. The virus that AI created recently that boomed on all media outlets? In reality, it created 16 viable ones. That was out of 300 attempts. That is less than 20% success rate.
