It's really not a big deal if adults like cartoons. A lot of animation is also actually serious and obviously intended for an adult audience with adult subjects and ideas. >>85736243It's true, a lot of anime isn't funny when translated to English. I showed my mom Azumanga Daioh and she said "Do Americans find this funny?". Even in Lucky Star, the scene about mixing your curry or how you eat a choco cornet, don't really make sense in English.I'd recommend Urusei Yatsura, though. It's pretty funny. Haibane Renmei, and Kino No Tabi (the 2003 one) are also really good, though they're not funny.
