Black people frequently have poorly spelled names (e.g. "Ahshli" instead of "Ashley") because of their low literacy levels, and they also frequently ignore the beeping noise that smoke alarms make when they need their batteries changed because they were raised in overstimulating environments such that background noise isn't salient (or is actively sought out as soothing, since silence is experienced as understimulating and thus anxiety-provoking - see also blasting rap music out of their phone speakers or maintaining loud conversations on public transit)
