I just thought of an ideaShifting the focus in a dating app from universal beauty to individual familiarityImagine an app that uses some kind of algorithm to match people that have similar features to themThis is because of the documented psychological phenomenons called assortive mating and the mere exposure effect because with familiarity brings attraction through a sense of safety and comfortIt's subconscious in that we humans instantly like and prefer features that are our own because of our brains trained standard for what a human should look likeIt would be like an inexplicable instant spark for the both the male and female even if the male isn't super attractive because of the way their brain is hardwiredThis could help solve looks match based dating for men because the females would be finding the males attractive due to having the features familiar to their own
>>85755456doesnt matter, its through a screen which is by default impersonal. the current state of dating apps is great: theyre dogshit and everyone knows it, so anyone worth dating stays off these apps.
the apps make money by having people have pointless chats that go nowhere or fucking strangers that leaves you feeling empty and chasing the next high, thats their business model
These apps always have a 1:15 gender ratio. Women don't want an app like this
>>85755897tinder already has a 1:5 ratio as it is
>>85755897including all the bots btw
apps need a forced 50/50 (or higher for women) gender ratio which probably means men pay and women get in free, and still probably a wait list for men. selfies/photos should be disallowed by default because women have terrible imaginations and can only figure out if they can deal with a guys looks if he has taken the perfect 1 out of 1000 selfie picture, so selfie based matching is a poor feature for both men and women. instead avatars should be AI generated from recording yourself for the AI to scan what you look like and create a fun cartoon avatar version of yourself. then like a dozen or so in a mixed gender group should have forced interaction in some kind of interacting entertainment space like vr chat. and they can start pairing off from that and building up from there. the whole idea with the app is you have to deal with how women interface with men, which is not visually. every single dating app to date has been "grindr, but for straight people" which is not how female sexuality works and so is doomed to fail.
