Food is so expensive that I'm practically starving myself and still spend too much.
I've lost so much weight but I'm too depressed to do anything about it. I'm starting to look underweight.
>>

I'm a medical doctor and I can help you with that but I'll need to see pics of your tummy first ok
>>

What is your monthly food budget?
Rice and tuna or bread and pate are always options if money's tight.
>>
>>85823206
come live with me and you'll get all the grub you want, within reason
>>
>>85823267
What about eggs and toasts? 12 pack of eggs should at least feed you a couple of meals

made for tender lovemaking

anyway, for cheaper eating, you should be making oatmeal for breakfast and big pots of soup for dinner. also bake your own bread too, much cheaper than storebought
>>
>>85823303
How do you make rice and tuna?
I usually just eat a cup of plain rice for my food for the day. My budget is basically as low as I can possibly make it. I dont like eating money and it makes me really upset.
>>85823309
I cant do that. I have to stay where i am.
>>85823316
Eggs are pretty expensive. 6 eggs is like 4$ where i live. I do eat them sometimes anyways when i am treating myself or sometimes i make friend rice
>>
>>85823267
umm why do you have boobs
>>
>>85823345
Do you have any good guides for breadmaking?
I was doing a good job making potato and onion soup but then the depression took over and i was too sad to wash my pot. Have to try. Thank you for your help friend.
>>
Perhaps potatoes and beans with something like garlic salt? I've never been in your situation before, so I don't know how else to help.

you can just look up any breadmaking recipe on google, they're all essentially the same, since the process is very simple. just be sure to knead generously to develop those glutes in the dough before you let it rise. also potato onion soup is a good choice for dindin, you should make some of that again
>>

Doctors are either jeets or jeet-adjacent. No surprises there.

Nigger, eat some vegetables. Find the cheapest frozen vegetables (peas, carrots) you can find and throw them in when making the rice. At bare minimum you won't go blind. If you want protein eat kidney beans.
>>
>>85823460
rice with eggs or fish would be better. peas are useless and carrots are just a side.
>>
>>85823460
having a sex drive makes you a jeet? why are people on this website so fucking stupid?
>>
Start drinking IPAs. They completely suppress your appetite almost to a scary degree.
I only eat 2 meals a day and sometimes the 1 meal is extremely modest, like 2 slices of pizza or something.
2 slices of pizza 1st meal, then a quite hefty turkey sandwich for the second and that's it, no snacking or anything. I might have an ice cream sandwich after one of the meals or something.

2 IPAs is 6.50 but you can get them for 5.50 at some places.
>>

the pizza i ate was ham and chicken and it had quite a bit of it, but ill admit i didnt pay for it, its not a typical meal, its just what i happened to eat.
Normally I eat shit like turkey and beans or chicken and rice, tuna, eggs, stuff like that.

>>85823500

what does that even mean. also they don't all taste like shit, but I dont think you have a taste for beer if you hate IPAs. regular malt beer is almost flavorless.

>im just worried the rbead will go bad you know? id feel guilty if it does.
this isn't really an issue, you can keep it in the fridge and it'll keep for longer (multiple weeks or so). also if your bread gets too stale, you can slice it up and make it into rusks, those last pretty much indefinitely. don't be afraid of experimentation!
>>
>>85824260
>>85824126
Bread freezes REALLY well. Whenever I buy a nice loaf of bread I cut it in half and put half in the freezer because I can't eat it all before it goes stale.
>>
Where do you live? It's hard to imagine pizza and eggs as expensive luxuries. I have chickens of the uncooped variety and they just shit them all over the place. Have to do the two bowls trick when making eggs to make sure none are actually fetuses but eggs are basically free in America.
Idk, make hummus and some kind of no knead flatbread. Sesame seeds are probably more expensive than gold wherever you are from but you can use peanut butter instead. Overcook the fuck out of chickpeas and blend them straight off the stove, in food processor lemon juice and one bulb not clove of garlic, then garlemon juice and peanut butter in blender and thin with the chickpea water until it looks right. If you have a carrot boil it with the chickpeas and blend. For flatbread I mix flour, water, salt, and yeast then cook each piece in a skillet for a couple minutes on the stovetop. I lived on hummus for a while, it looks like jeet food but it's actually terrorist food. Pork is like $1/lb so just get a whole butt and then cook it like 10 different ways so it doesn't get old. Pulled pork, shishkebab, sausage patties. Pork is basically chicken except it has a taste. Seriously underrated meat in burgerstan considering all the different ways to prepare it. We don't have any Muslims in America but you can even make doner out of pork since it's basically a cross between sausage and meatloaf. I had lots of traditional Canadian dishes when I went to Michigan and that's when I learned about terrorist food. Stuffed grape leaves, falaffles, weird coffee that tastes like minty dirt but super good, rice that has bits of spaghetti in it(presumably to stretch it because rice is expensive in Canada), pickles that aren't cucumbers. Just don't eat the curry, everyone talks about how great it is but it's fucking weird. Should have known better because they hyped the fuck out of the Ethiopian restaurant too but Ethiopian food is somehow as bad as curry only they don't even give you a fork/plate.

>>85824260
What is a rusk?
>>85824356
Doesnt putting bread in the freezer make it go stale? Or is it ok?
I invented a type of soup using stale bread. I call it stuffing stew. You add onions, mushrooms, and stale bread and add one cube of boulloom. you cook it off for an hour or two and it is really filling and feels nice in the cold. I called it stuffing stew because stuffing works too.
>>85824384
>Pork is like $1/lb
I wish. hummus is a good idea though, thank you. I havent eaten it before but it has good nutrition doesn't it? I'll check that out, and definitely try flatbread. Thank you. Im living in a place with higher prices than where i was living before and the money goes thin is all.

This is a serious question. I seriously consider the latter.

What country are you from? Your tummy is sexy... If you have a cute face you can probably get wifed

Lentils are a great option. Cheap, healthy, easy to cook, don't need to soak them like you do with dry beans, goes well with rice, excellent source of protein and fiber. When money gets a bit less tight you can throw in garlic, onion, ginger, chicken stock, spices, and it'll taste good too.

I presume you are in the third world ... if you are in a first world country and struggling to afford food you need to work on your income and/or whatever non-food item(s) you are overspending on.
>>
>>85824766
oh its like an xl crouton?
can you make it with all kinds of bread or only white bread?
do you need the garlic to be fresh or is garlic powder ok?
>>85825183
i think it would depend on the circumstances of the job. i worked a job before and all my coworkers were nice and i had something different to do every day. if i had to work at a factory or something id stick my head in a stamping machine.
one time i tried to starve myself to death but they threatened to force feed me. i gained weight since and im like 10kg more than i was back then. it gets hard to live with starvation. my diet is bad right now but nothing is like starvation. i wouldnt be so sure i could go through with it.
>>85825207
>>85825233
im trying to live independently right now. i feel like if i gave up on myself, i would be in despair and self hatred forever.
>>85825303
thank you. i will try lentils. lentil soup is really tasty i know. do you buy them raw in bags? do most stores have them? i can afford a few flavorings to food, just not so much that they go bad. thank you for the tip.
i'm living in the first world but I'm unemployed and living on my parent's money as an adult. I don't want to waste what they're giving me while I try to sort myself out. its sort of hard to catch up in life though when you're overwhelmed by small things that other people can do very easily.
>>
>>85825364
>do you buy them raw in bags? do most stores have them?
Yes and yes.
With just garlic(or garlic powder for long term and cheaper) ,onion and bullion you can make a great soup
>>
>>85825364
>oh its like an xl crouton?
yes, I think croutons are made the exact same way
>can you make it with all kinds of bread or only white bread?
you can make it with any bread you've got, although white bread is good for the neutral base for spices and stuff
>do you need the garlic to be fresh or is garlic powder ok?
garlic powder is the way to go, just mix it in some olive oil and brush the bread slices with the mixture
>>
>>85825364
>they threatened to force feed me

>>85825393
>you can make it with any bread you've got, although white bread is good for the neutral base for spices and stuff
okay, that's good. one more thing to remember to do before food goes bad, but it will save the calories and that's good.
>>85825422
>So, what happens if I am too poor to feed myself? Will they 'force'feed me every day?
they can't keep it up forever i think. eventually you do die. it probably depends on your country how long they try to stop you though.
>>
>>85825484
>one more thing to remember to do before food goes bad, but it will save the calories and that's good.
yes, you have to utilize all your resources. wish I could help you out more than just with advice, though
>>

>>
>>85825572
the advice is very helpful. thank you.
>>85825632

I need to fix up my CV and start sending it places, I mean I've got a job right now but I feel like I got too comfortable while also having some burnout and I can get better conditions elsewhere with opportunities for personal growth as well.

>>85824126
>how do you cook beans?
You could buy canned black beans if you wanted. But if you want to cook them, let them soak overnight, cook them in a pot, bring to a boil, reduce heat and then keep checking on them after an hour has passed to see if they have become tender enough for you. It takes awhile which is why canned would be a good way to go.

i went to an automatic laundromat and put my clothes in the washing machine. it said that it closes 1 hour from now last time i used it so i would have enough time to wash and dry my clothes. today i washed my clothes and took them out and it says that the driers are closed an hour earlier than last time. why?
now my clothes are already wet and i have to wait until tomorrow morning to go back and dry them, because i don't have a place to hang them. it's so stupid. why do they shut down washing machines at night in the first place? even worse, why would they change the business hours of an automatic machine? it feels like a scam but they know i dont want to haul my clothes on the bus and travel far to the next one
>I need to fix up my CV and start sending it places, I mean I've got a job right now but I feel like I got too comfortable while also having some burnout and I can get better conditions elsewhere with opportunities for personal growth as well.
good luck. i hope you find a place that fulfills you more. what part of the conditions are getting to you?

>>
>>85826240
yeah, that is too much prep work for me. i forget these things. even putting things in the microwave i forget to take them out. for one person that would lead to a lot of wasted food most likely. i should stick with cans when they are affordable. lentils seem good to try though. thank you.

thats pretty nutritious when you add it all up, especially because of the eggs.

i don't think you should feel guilty. one flavor of mental retard isnt less retarded than the other flavor of mental retard. to be honest it disgusts me how people who put on weight easily due to mood or metabolism are treated so poorly for no real reason. humans are such disgusting, superficial creatures.

That's a good start, perhaps focusing on foods that require little to no prep and work is a good place to focus on for now, especially if it's difficult to keep track of things when you're cooking.
>>85827808
>one flavor of mental retard isnt less retarded than the other flavor of mental retard.
This is true, although I think the guilt is coming from the fact that I can afford to overeat while people like you are starving.

i put it in the dryer but i have even better news
i found the source of the rotting smell in the apartment. i threw up accidentally cleaning it out but after that i washed it away with vinegar. it was the sludge at the bottom of a protein shaker. i feel so relieved i was starting to worry a rat had died somewhere
>>
I wanna be thinner to be honest. This is often seen as the desire of girls and gay guys but Im not gay. Do you all consider the desire to be thinner girly?
>>
>>85823206
Thank the Iran war lmao.
>>
>>85830070
>threw up accidentally cleaning it out
Are you very sensitive to smells nona?
>Sludge at the bottom of a protein shaker
I've never had it get badger personally but I don't let stuff sit around kind of because of that, I'm glad it wasn't something too bad! Got anything planned for today?
>>
>>85823206
What are you buying? I buy quite a lot of stuff from tesco and cook it and it lasts me ages. Like I did a stew the other day and it was scrumdidlyuptious and not that expensive.
>>
>>85830078
It's not gay or girly but most guys want to get more toned after they put on muscle
>>
>>85830078
i think it's seen as a not straight thing because women don't desire it in the same way men do. i don't think that makes it girly though.
>>85830130
i heard that with the strait of djibouti and hormuz being closed there might be a global famine or something.
hopefully there's enough domestic food to survive.
>>85830150
>Are you very sensitive to smells nona?
sort of. i can track people by scent sometimes when the weather is good and i can smell emotions. a couple weeks ago i smelled something nice being baked and so i tracked the scent two blocks and found the food. i can also recognize people by their smells so for example if someone wore my backpack i can smell the backpack and tell who did it. im not sure if thats normal with a bit of awareness to it or abnormal though. i dont really like it because most things smell bad
>>85830156
stews are better than everything else but at least for me they're still a couple of dollars a bowl and thats like the price range floor
usually i eat spaghetti with butter, eggs, bulk peanuts, rice, cheap produce, and i buy the clearance sale at the baker to get bread and things for a low price. i also buy coffee and milk because it matters a lot to me.

what is your stew recipe?
>>
>>85830203
>i can track people by scent sometimes
You mean tell when they enter a room because they use a certain perfume?
>a couple weeks ago i smelled something nice being baked and so i tracked the scent two blocks and found the food
Wow... I think I can kind of do that but it's pretty impressive you know?
>if someone wore my backpack i can smell the backpack and tell who did it
Okay now that I can't do.
>i dont really like it because most things smell bad
Yes I understand, I get that too.. But sometimes it's nice because you can smell nice stuff from far away... Like the smell of grilled meat or gasoline I enjoy those

i hate being retarded.

i can tell when people are in a room no matter what because i can sense their presence but i can smell them if they arent wearing perfume.
>sometimes it's nice because you can smell nice stuff from far away... Like the smell of grilled meat or gasoline I enjoy those
i like the smell of grilled meat but the smell of gasoline makes me sick. i used to have to sit by a lot of engines without good carbon monoxide filtering as a kid like on the chainsaws and engines and stuff and id have to go aside and throw up all the time
i like the smell of rain and trees and rocks and dogs and sweat and coffee but i dont like the smell of cars and cats and ozone and rubber and wine. i have some essential oils that im gonna use to get out the bad smells and vinegar.
>>
my hands started shaking drinking coffee and spilled coffee (with milk) all over rright after doing the laundry ;~;

You're on a higher level than me that's for sure heh

:( oh I'm sorry I if I brought back any uncomfortable memories.

Yes!!!! Rain smells so nice and I agree about coffee I love how it smells so fucking much

rain is the best weather. the best part of rain is that nobody is around.
>Okay, take care!
you too!
>>85830509
i have plenty of savings, just because i have no income im pretty compulsive about saving money. i gave my car to my mom though because hers broke and she needed to get to work.
i sort of just have a compulsion to not spend money. i think it's genetic because my grandfather and dad were the same way. half the things in my apartment i found in dumpsters and the other half i got as a present or free. i am extremely privelaged and not impoverished at all, it's just a self-imposed restriction because i want to waste as few resources on existing as possible.

i got really upset and fantasized about turning off a bunch of water valves that were left exposed. sort of had an underground man moment but realized there were cameras.
>>85830563
>Does drinking coffee make your hands shake?
It keeps me from shaking, usually.
it was just the first cup of the day so it wasnt ready.
>it gets warmer year by year and they stay until later on, I got bit by mosquitoes all over a few days ago too!
i am so fed up with heat. i wish i could move to a base in antarctica. would you go to antarctica if you had the chance? there arent any bugs that live there, unless you count the crustaceans.
>>85830632
>What do you mean?
i can go outside and be alone, and not have to worry about anyone else.
you can put something on a bench and sit there and nobody will bother you. normal people don't like being in the rain because they dont like to get wet or cold. when it rains, the normies are forced inside and the outcasts have their chance to enjoy the outdoors.
i like that song. tried to watch mushishi but only finished episode 1. wasnt in the mood for its pacing at the time. did you finish it? how was it?
>>
>>85830648
Yeah I get that about heat, it sucks living somewhere that's warm, I don't know if I would go to Antarctica because there's little nature there and how cold it is makes lots of things difficult(I'm not trying to be lame that's just what came to mind) but moving somewhere further north does sound nice.
And I get now what you mean, I like the rain that way but only when I have my boots, wet feet don't entice me enough...
And yes, I've seen Mushishi, it's very calming and kind of beautiful in a way? You can tell a lot of thought about nature was put into it.
A similar show called mononoke has a different pacing which I don't enjoy as much but visually it's very appealing

northern climates are nice, probably the best livable biome.
>You can tell a lot of thought about nature was put into it.
definitely. it had a striking appeal from the outset. probably gotta circle back around to it someday.
>A similar show called mononoke
i started watching that one but my mom got bored so we switched off of it to a different show. i found it interesting tho.
so much anime to catch up on. havent even started any new anime this season besides edgerunners. i think now is a good time to watch firefly wedding though, been interested in that one. you watching anything rn?
>>
>>85823206
You need
>Rice
>Legumes (beans, peas, lentils)
>Olive Oil
>A mix of cheap fruits and veggies. I recommend getting the veggies frozen (Onions, Broccoli, Spinach, Oranges, Apples)
>Eggs

If you are struggling to afford that, get government assistance.
>>
>>85830851

I haven't watched anything this season honestly... I don't watch as much anymore, maybe I should actually catch up on some older stuff

>Doesnt putting bread in the freezer make it go stale? Or is it ok?
No it prevents it from going stale. Some stuff changes texture or flavor when frozen and thawed out but bread is 90% as good as when it was fresh. The fresher it is when you freeze it, the better it is thawed weeks later. All you have to do to thaw it is keep it in a ziplock bag on the counter at room temp for a few hours.

This also works for things like bagels and muffins. The best is getting a fresh batch of a dozen bagels and putting them in individual ziplock bags and freezing them. Whenever you feel like a bagel you can put one in the microwave for 30 seconds to thaw it, slice it, and then put it in the toaster.

there's a lot of great old anime. i recently watched record of lodoss for the first time and its still good. a lot of new animes are amazing but a little slept on in the mainstream like gachiakuta or witch hat atelier. people are too hard on this generation of anime.

>gachiakuta or witch hat atelier
Those are immensely popular, I've watched them but I don't think I'll end up watching the second season of gachiakuta when it does release, witch hat is incredible though.
I'll just end up reading stuff I think, most new anime feels like slop for the masses.
>total 41$

That's about how much I paid for some cold cuts, jam, milk and a bit of smoked salmon. Living is expensive ;~;

trying to make bread

im watched the exiled heavy knight knows how to game the system rn so i guess i am the masses really.
what sort of anime do you like to watch?
>>
>>85831655
You can move the dough to a bowl or something and cover it then clean the pot and make the soup.
You aren't annoying, I hope I didn't accidentally express that somehow, if I did please say how and I will avoid doing that.
Anime I like to watch? My favorite one is dorohedoro but there are a couple of others I really like although most of them aren't particularly new.

i see some air bubbles at least so maybe it's ok? not sure.
im excited for the stew but i dont have a big enough pot to add as much broth as i'd like to.
>My favorite one is dorohedoro but there are a couple of others I really like although most of them aren't particularly new.
i loved dorohedoro!
im a big fan of that 2020s demented amoral grunge psychopath vibe in anime and stuff and dorohedoro satisfied that itch so well. all the characters are so lovable. also had the best anime op of all time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH_YJde1yps
sorry if offended you, i just got neurotic.
>>
>>85832199
>also had the best anime op of all time
Personally I prefer the OP of the second season (which came out on April 1st in case you missed it),
https://youtu.be/guARjKjyFLY
it's pretty good as a song itself but then you consider how the lyrics are double meaning and they have the entire cast listed in them.
The mangas style is impeccable but I love the anime just as much, it's great.
>>
>>85832199
I also I wanted to add but forgot... Dorohedoro stood out more in it's endings for the first season to me, they were creative, clever and showed passion because they often included gags and such.
It(the anime) really is a project of passion and I am really happy that's the case

yeah. some of the 3d animation was slightly underwhelming compared to the manga artstyle, but the sauce was still there. sorta like the csm adaptation.

my favorite anime is fate because i want to be a hero of justice too

Well it's when you make very shallow cuts across the top in a sort of symmetrical way and it's supposed to help make the expansion of the dough less chaotic? I'm sure it'll be fine without it, it just makes the top look... More interesting I guess?
