To believe myself superior to other sapient hominids when I am so feeble would feel hypocritical since it is neither their fault nor mine for the way we were designed on the great conveyor belt of life. However, if we look at the data, White Europeans and East Asians seem to fare better in meritocratic environments, so empirically speaking they would be more intelligent.I don't believe intelligence is everything: we must also consider how cruel and domineering someone is. A stupid man who is also cruel will commit wanton destruction in his community while a dull man who is kind will become a pillar of his. Likewise, an extremely intelligent man who views others as worthy of nothing is how you get genocidal regimes. Who in history did genocidal regimes best? Who conquered most of the known world? I (a white guy) lived in Liberia for two years, working as a software consultant, and I got to see what it's like when blacks are in total control of everything. (Liberia has massive amounts of corruption at all levels.) My overall conclusion is that there is probably nothing in black DNA that prevents them from achieving a high-functioning first-world society -- but for some reason that I don't understand, they almost always adopt an inferior culture that prevents their societies from maturing. If they could just break free from all their cultural shortcomings, they could really make something of themselves and their countries.I'm positive that it's not because of a lack of money or resources -- some of those African countries are very rich in natural resources, and there's always a small number of elites who have more money than god himself. The problem is that their culture doesn't allow that money to be spread around to help grow the economy -- and for some reason, they just don't seem to have the gumption to take advantage of their natural resources. They seem to have a strong preference for just going into useless government work, where they can then go around collecting bribes from everyone -- and none of that helps make the country better.After two years there, I'm still baffled at why they can't get their act together.

I met some smart, motivated people (which is why I'm convinced the problem is not in their DNA), but even just one dumb guy in a decision-making position can ruin everything.A bunch of my time there was spent trying to convince the decision-makers that if they could just stop taking bribes for one goddamn second, then we wouldn't get locked into having to waste money purchasing useless software from some dubious little vendor, simply because that vendor offered kick-backs to some of the big-shots in our company. A much better approach is to investigate the open-source software ecosystem and get the best and most popular solutions that give us 95% of what we need, and then we can add the remaining 5% ourselves, and save a metric shit-ton of money in the process. The only way I was able to win the battles was to continually remind them over and over that I was hired specifically to save them money, and if they really wanted to save money, they had to stop taking bribes. In the end, their desire to impress the CEO with cost-savings overcame their greed for bribes (but just barely), and I could tell that this was generating a lot of political fighting up at the higher levels of the company.Some cultures are simply inferior to others. Sadly, Liberia chose an inferior culture. I have no idea why that seems to correlate with having black skin -- but you've got to face the unfortunate fact that the correlation exists.
