Imagine working comfy corporate job at Fortune 500 company probably making 6 figs only for you to be laid off. You have mortgage, car payments and family living upper middle class lifestyle. How do you adjust to losing that much money
>>858362061.2 billion to 2.7 billion total cost.
not my problem, they can all die
>>85836206You're absolutely fucked, though I assume most will find new jobs to keep things chugging.
Presumably these galaxy brain masters of the universe saved some money and had alternative plans
>>85836206I work a corporate job at an (ex) fortune 500 company and I'm living in constant fear of layoffs since 2022.It's pretty annoying because they're really rubbing it in our faces too much lately, and it's also used as tool for wage reduction. Just one year before I got into the company, people were getting 8-10% raises yearly, now the range is mostly 0-3% with 0 being more common than you'd expect. It also became a thing to fire and rehire on lower salaries.Luckily I didn't get into any form of debt.
>>85836908>It also became a thing to fire and rehire on lower salaries.kek
>>85836206>get paid a small fortune every year>waste itI don't understand upper middle class typesthese people make more in a month than I do in a year and still worry about moneyyou're allowed to save it, you don't have to spend massive amounts all the time
>>85836206>How do you adjust to losing that much moneyThey move back to India, I assume.
>>85837609It's women, and the bane of comparison. Also those ludicrous salaries require you to live in ludicrously expensive areas.
>>85836206It's nice having a bunch of money, it sucks to lose the golden goose

>>85836261where will they find jobs? what skills do they possess that will land them a job in the current market? I'm sure Amazon would hire them to work in a warehouse but I don't think that's up their alley.
>>85838590at other tech companies. if a small fraction of them have to downgrade, it will be doing tech in finance or pharma. the current market has more people flowing into tech, not out of it.
>>85836206I'm more curious what the pitch by the management is to them. If AI is replacing them here, it won't be long until AI replaces any other job they could work with their skillset. Just offering a buyout on the premise it will be enough with some savings to wait out the world going to shit from automation? A buyout for any position at all is weird.
>>85836206By not being a retard and living a life like that. I could win the lottery and I'd still mostly live like I'm poor.
I wish I was born earlier back when tech jobs were meritocratic. If you're a millennial and aren't independently wealthy for life, you fucked up so many times.>>85838512All original content comes from Twitter/Tiktok. All digestible news is also on Twitter first.
>>85836206>make more money>instead of saving more money, investing that money into building a cheap homestead for peanuts, or starting your own business, you just spend more money because you're a materialist status-chasing retard>lose job and your life implodes because you're a mindless cattle who didn't prepare for this common inevitability>shocked and outraged that this happenedNormies deserve every ounce of pain they experience.
>>85838978>or starting your own businessExcept you never have had your own business so you have no idea of the process.
