It's: having children is no longer economically beneficial and there's a motivation for people to not have kids=> marriage becomes less important=> whoredom becomes possible and semi normalized
Or: whoredom becomes normalized=>marriage becomes less desirable =>less children

what in the pseud

whores are normalized by nature. the question is whether religious practices and the authority of the church representing a "higher power" are fundamental to a civilized society. Secularism was made possible by mass relocation of people and sprawl at much faster rates than before, which also coincided with whores being in high demand everywhere that men needed to do work. Your 2nd option is closer to the truth but it's actually not correlated with less children. Population cycles are not really that complex, and we have trends in lower birthrates in countries that do not have a lot of whores. It's not really economic or cultural, it's mostly caused by social cues and to some extent diet/lifestyle in the modern world. if everyone around you is having kids and everything else is stable and boring, you'll have kids. if it's a generation that has more individual freedom and adaptation and options, less kids.
