Hey you, yeah YOU

Drop everything you're doing and replay the Arkham games this instant. It's time for your daily dose of kino.
>>
I like Arkham Asylum when it came out but when I tried the next game years later from a steam sale there was way too much commuting. I have no investment in superheroes but that first game was pretty sick.
>>

Yeah Asylum is the series' whole vibe in its most undistilled form, it's creepy as all hell which should be a tenet of Arkham's identity. I love every game in the series but each passing entry feels more and more like a Nolan movie with the huge action set pieces.
>>
I like the arkam games but I really only replay city and sometimes knights stealth challenges
>>

City's stealth challenges are fun too but it's annoying how they make you do specifc things in order to get the highest scores, really disincentivizes you from playing your own way.

Asylum is ideal to replay like once a year or so and to be honest I'm only replaying the trilogy because I've got shit else to play right now! I'm enjoying it though
>>
I installed City, booted it up, but then shut it off. I dunno, I'm bored of video games atm, at least stuff from the backlog, I'm kinda in a try new shit era. I've been pirating a lot of shit.
>>
>>85838885
I will just play Shadow of War instead since the combat system is basically the same
>>
>>85838885
I keep seeing the entire arkham collection on steam for like $3 but I still don't feel like playing them. I tried Arkham Asylum for a few days when it first came out but I guess I just lost interest. Plus superhero stuff is pretty lame imo, especially DC.
>>
>>85839054
Yeah but it lasts too long, and you've gotta conquer armies across like 7 different arenas. I like Shadow of Mordor better or whatever the first game was called because it doesn't overstay its welcome.

>>85839090
Just forget that Arkham is capeshit and treat it as a detective/beat em up game with stealth sections instead. I think the series makes enough stylistic choices to the point where you forget its capeshit origins (and if you do like capeshit, then it's a plus)
>>
>>85839110
The gameplay is the major reason I don't enjoy it. I don't like that sort of open world collectathon beat em up game.
>>
>>85839110
>overstay its welcome
Fortunately I'm not a zoomer or some other creature with the attention span of a goldfish so I have the innate ability to enjoy things that aren't meant to be consumed in an instant.
>>
>>85839164
To be fair you can totally ignore the Riddler stuff, and I wouldn't blame you seeing as it is a pain in the ass. I guess it is a matter of which aesthetics you gravitate towards.
>>
>>85839173
I can enjoy (and have enjoyed) longer games, but Shadow of War just sees you doing the same shit over and over again.

>go to a new area
>interrogate worms for information
>choose which captains to kill, and which ones to press into your army

Rinse and repeat until the game ends with hollow main story quests to keep the plot moving. The nemesis system is cool but it's the game's only selling point.
>>
>>85839187
I always get bored of the second game at the exact same point every time I reinstall it, which is when you get to the part where you start mounting whatever the Rancor kaiju things. I start yawning.
I also don't like the overly humanized Hobbit trolls, shits dumb.
>>
>>85838987
I've replayed asylum but I preferred the more open design to city but I probably prefer asylum to knight since it can feel bloated at times
>>
>>85838885
I haven't even played a single Arkham game for the first time. The only GOOD capeshit games were made by Capcom, Sunsoft, Clockwork Tortoise and Konami in the 90's and early 2000's.
>daily dose of kino.
I got that not long ago from X-COM:TFTD
>Made my base smack dab in the middle of the Caribbean sea.
>By Year 2, three touchdowns (two large and one small ships), one downed craft and a terror mission happen within the same month.
I'm glad I had researched Gauss pistols and ammo before.
>>

I can usually make it until the point where the rest of the map opens up and you're introduced to just how same-y the game is despite there being different maps to explore. I only have so much time to game, don't want to waste my time on one I have to force myself through.

>>85839211
I'm on Knight right now and can definitely agree with the map feeling bloated, I've been more or less ignoring sidequests and there's shit all over the map. Not that I mind though, and it does make sense seeing as this is the final Arkham game.

>>85839212
what capeshit games are you talking about, anon
>>
>>85838885
They have 3d tv support as well. I enjoyed all of them. I didnt beat origins because I made the the mistake of doing the hardest difficulty. Blackwell asylum as well.
>>
>>85839320
the best part about knight to me was the gliding it's not hard at all but it still feels super satisfying to pull off
>>
>>85838885
I have played an replayed city origins and knight so much I will never play them again
