The biggest part about the Male Loneliness Epidemic (which is absolutely a thing) that no one talks about, I think, is that single men 35+ are truly alone. At 37, I've realized that part of why I don't really have any 'friends' at this point is because they're all either married, divorced, and/or have kids, not to mention the ones who for one reason or another (military, etc) were able to move abroad. For me, it's just work, bills, and silence. I think it's unspoken, but like that for a lot of single men my age and older.
>>85839018Yes anon, everyone is busy. Nobody makes time for socialization anymore, there's too many dumb ass opinions on the internet and we have to challenge them or it will seem like my side is weak and losing the culture war.
>just work, bills, and silenceI'm 26 and this is my life. There is no real opportunity to make friends or a girlfriend. Even if you just hang out outside or go to public places like a bar or maybe a park, nobody is going to seek you out unless you have something that they want that they can see on the surface like wealth or good looks. And if you approach someone yourself, the only way to keep them interested is to just lie. How many people that claim to be friends really know each other? How many people that claim to be in romantic relationships are willing to go the extra mile to maintain it because they have complete trust in each other. Probably way lower than you think would be my guess. It's all so pointless. It's sad to be alone but it's even more sad to have to constantly perform for others just for the same degree of comfort that I would get from drinking alcohol or smoking weed.
