1st and it's not even close. 2nd season felt like it was all over the place and had so much fan service/felt juvenile af. While the 1st season also had some juvenile moments, the story was much more tight, had it's powerful moments where needed, and wrapped up with a tragedy that left people devastated. The second season felt like they had multiple people fighting over how each episode would go, and the whole talia and roman ship is fucking weird. Lmfao. They just had to give the pooners their shota.

Overall, it felt like a weebshit version of what the first edgerunner's season was.

The first one punched harder but I liked the HOPE ending of the second. I also liked that D turned into a 2Dchad by the end of it. That said, 2 felt like it either needed more episodes or longer episodes to tie everything together more strongly.

You could kind of see how they were going for a pulp fiction angle with all the parallel storylines, but the director failed to make it feel like they were meaningful or like chekov's guns. I agree that it would have benefited from more episodes since it feels like Ikarashi had this idea for what it should have been but failed at making it flow and wrap up as tightly as the first season. It was Ikarashi's first series director role so I guess it's not bad all things considered, but it lacked the the impact the 1st season had because of pacing issues. I guess I can see what they're going for. They're probably going for an anthology series with an overarching narrative, so Lucy, Talia, etc, will all probably come back at some later point in the series. So what looks like fan service now, could just be them building continuity within that world. Still though, you can't expect fans to be that charitable or assume things like that, they'll just take it at face value, and I thought this season was ass

1 was way better but 2 is still good. the finale got me, when king was limping into explosion hellfire in a futile attempt to save talia. and soundcloud rap started playing. I teared up pretty good. I want to die like that.

Both seasons really speak to one's masculine desire to die a scenic death.
