I bet it's a high percentage of young people not having kids simply because they can't get a starter home. So it's either affordable housing or artificial wombs to solve the fertility crisis. Artificial wombs wouldn't do shit. The number of children people *desire* has collapsed. There could be a slight boost if pregnancy was made easier, but the issue is raising children primarily. It is not just unaffordable to pay for a child from 0->18, the opportunity cost is in the 100s of thousands over the course of a lifetime. It is not a rational choice to have children in the modern world.
