I'm not the best at detecting sarcasm and social cues

Yeah, so?

Is there anything you are the best at no though so [/spoiler[
>>
>>85845669
It gets me in weird situations sometimes

>>85845678
I mean I've sometimes won things in my life.
Best in the world or in history though? Probably nothing. But that's almost everyone.
>>
I am constantly being sarcastic and messing around when I speak but I'm autistic enough (figuratively) that nobody can tell. Better to pretend to be literal and humorless all the time.
>>
>>85845648
me neither frogette
i think we all have that in common

crazy how unapologetically evil people are
>>
>>85845852
Weird that no one catches on eventually. Even your close friends?

>>85845862
True it's probably common here

>>85845869
Wdym? How is this related to evil?
>>
>>85845898
>Even your close friends?
I wouldn't know.
>>
>>85845911
Why wouldn't you know? You don't have any, or you just don't pay attention to them enough to tell?
>>
>>85845927
I wouldn't know if my close friends catch on eventually because I've not had close friends. Why are you assuming I'm an asshole instead? Do I type like it? My bad.
>>
>>85845648
Same. It should be trivial, but it can make life hell

I will be your fren, anon
>>
>>85845965
I appreciate that, that's kind of you. But I'll be fine
>>
>>85845937
I'm not assuming you're an asshole. I was just asking which it was, because it's strange to not have close friends
>>
>>85845988
Why don't you want to have close friends?
>>
>>85846046
I get it. Strange. Well, I guess that's why I'm here.
>>85846346
I don't do well with relationships of any kind. Self-isolate, ghost. It feels burdening, asphyxiating to have acquaintances. I know nothing about psychology but I've heard people say avoidant people are like this, so I don't think I'm alone.
>>
>>85846402
Have you ever formed a pair bond with a mate? If so how did that turn out?
>>
>>85846448
I don't know. I've had a couple of girlfriends, but both accused me of not caring very much and of lying that I loved them. I got pretty emotional at times, and I didn't feel like I was lying, but I guess it wasn't quite -it- to them. I ended up detaching completely and now I regret both.
>>
>>85846482
What did loving feel like to you? What did you do while loving them? What did they want you to do to prove you loved them?
>>
>>85846510
That's not so easy to answer, anon. I'm not sure what to say. Are you getting at something specific?

I felt a sense of dependency and of obligation, and I tried to listen and help them whenever there was something. I think maybe they wanted more warmth and closeness than I had.
>>
>>85845648
sarcasm is overrated and not actually a sign of intelligence
anyone that brags about being "fluent in sarcasm" is always, always, always going to be one of the most insufferable people you will ever meet
>>
>>85846557
>I felt a sense of dependency and of obligation
I would not call this love, anon. At least not romantic love in a conventional sense. I could see both why you may have found it draining and also why they didn't feel your love.
>Are you getting at something specific?
Yes. The most classic signs of romantic love include obsessive thinking about the partner, things taking on special meaning relating to the partner, a "look in the eyes" of wanting, intense attraction along several dimensions, wanting to be close to them, thinking about the children you'll have together, a sense of warmth and wanting to protect them, etc.
It sounds to me like you've never been head over heels, or at least, you haven't entered a relationship with someone you've been head over heels for.
How good were you at communicating the distance you needed to them? What about asking about their specific needs from you?
>>
>>85846711
I find it weird that some people think it signals intelligence to be sarcastic all the time
>>
>>85846557
Anon, how is your gut microbiome? Do you eat enough healthy starches? Can you smoothly digest most food groups? What about fermented foods?

I ask because serotonin plays a key role in proper social bonding
>>
>>85846759
Well, I don't know. Maybe I feel less for other people than I should. That sounds depressing. I mean, what's the point of a life where you can't really fully connect to other people. How good was I at communication? Awful probably. I'd shut up and keep to myself from time to time. They were pretty clear with me that I wasn't being empathetic and caring enough and such. I'm sorry for not responding very well when you're putting effort into asking about and trying to help another person, I just don't feel like I have much to say, or at least that I don't know what to say.
>>85847181
Is this a real question? I don't think I've had digestive issues ever, not even once. My diet depends on what's cheap at the store closest to me, and I've moved around some. A lot of oats, rice, milk. Usually some banana. I don't remember my high school psychology enough to self-diagnose about chemical imbalances and such, but I've been on anti-depressants a couple of times and the only thing that felt different was that I was even more exhausted than usual.
>>
>>85847223
>I'd shut up and keep to myself from time to time.
I mean, setting up a system where you can warn them or send a text when you need to take space can help. So can scheduled alone tome worh clear boundaries about amount of texting etc.
>They were pretty clear with me that I wasn't being empathetic and caring enough and such.
Those are pretty vague things. Obviously you can't hit a target that's blurry. If you enter another relationship, it's worth getting more specific about your needs and giving space to discuss them on a regular basis.
Some couples schedule time for weekly audits of the relationship and avoid combativeness and arguments during other times of the week, if it's necessary.
>Is this a real question?
Yes, and I brought it up because I was just having a conversation with someone who was arguing that serotonin was bad, and you should avoid fermented legumes because of that. It led me to research more about serotonin and social bonding. It plays a crucial role.
If the majority of your calories come from starch, and most of the starches are whole foods that you digest well, you are more likely to be fine on the serotonin front though.
> I'm sorry for not responding very well
You're responding well. Don't worry
