Do you think that Clinton was one of the better presidents?
>>85846097Wasn't it during his presidency that relations with north korea collapsed? Or was that immediately after him?
>>85846097No, it was his economic policies that lead to the housing bubble and impending 2008 financial crisis. On top of that he also signed NAFTA into law which spelled the end for basically all the rust belt states alongside his expantion of outsourcing labor to China. On top of all that it was his idiotic foreign policy with bombing Serbia and expansion of NATO eastward that set the precident for us to get stuck in innumerable wars around the world as "global police" when we could've just wrapped up the European theater entirely after the fall of the Soviets by just letting them have their own shitty sphere of influence.
1994 was a huge disaster for this country so no
>>85846158>it was his idiotic foreign policy with bombing Serbia and promising no NATO expansion eastward to Russia that set the precident for us to get stuck in innumerable wars around the world as "global police"That is way too much blame to put on him and that sequence of events. Try Woodrow Wilson.
>>85846175What happened then? The Rwandan genocide?
no why would I think that? why would you fall for such a weird democrat spook?
>>85846192I'm talking specifically about a post soviet world, a world that he was one of the first presidents during and had the power to set the standard going forward. Whether it was antagonizing Russia or his abysmal "peace deals" between the Irish and Israelis/Palestinians, Clinton was simply too incompetent all around to ignore. Not to say other presidents like the Bushes or Reagan weren't equally as incompetent, but we're talking about Clinton here.
>>85846097>Do you think that Clinton was one of the better presidents?the more kids you tap, the better of a ruler you becomeive finally attained enlightenment
>>85846193i assume he means NAFTA
clinton got lucky in that the economy was good and he was president post cold war and pre 9/11.He was also forced to be a moderate by getting btfo in the 94 midterms.but then newt flew too close to the sun and tried getting him impeached for getting his dick sucked when americans didnt care.id say he made some massive mistakes like rwanda genocide or the 1996 telecommunications act which destroyed the music culture of america by allowing radio to be monopolized by a giant evil corporation
>>85846171Dems didnt have enough votes to stop deregulation which has been happening since Raygun. Jobs were already going overseas at this point.
>>85846221oh yeah, forgot this asshole did the whole nafta thing, hollowing out middle america, which of course led to the backlash that would get trump elected lol
>>85846227You're acting like Clinton and his "third way" ideology isn't equally as cutthroat and capitalistic as the Reaganites. Neolibs and neocons share far more in common than they have actual differences.
>>85846097he had the easiest presidency of all time so he did a good job by default
>>85846097Diddy epstein ahh blud :skull:
>>85846097Idk this is a funny question because not everything that happens during a presidential term can be attributed to their actions in office. Clinton was the last president to actually care about balancing the budget and achieved a budget surplus for one or two fiscal years that was pretty good and hasnt been done since. Now the shit where he falls flat is missing all the shit that lead to 9/11 whether or not it was done on purpose or not, if you are conspiratorial minded, pushing NAFTA, and getting involved in the war in the balkans.
>>85846171A little caveat: The housing bubble was due to the free money from the dot com crash needing somewhere to be dumped, and they found it in PRIME housing. Yes PRIME housing. The bubble was formed by rich people bidding against each other, (and the banks loosening their standards to accommodate the rich people), so much so that middle class people were forced out of prime housing towards low income housing and by 2006 more than half of subprime loan holders were people actually eligible for prime financing. It simply was a case of too much demand from cheap money and not enough supply of houses. The bubble was just capitalism doing its thing and if there was something Clington was to blame for it, it was for what he did not do, which was to involve more of the government in the housing business, not what he did do.
