It is completely rational not to have children in a world that is continually declining and increasingly globalized. Society does not provide an adequate level of safety to justify the risk in raising a child within it. We can look at countless examples of this to back up my claim. Kids that die in school shootings, run over by cars or sex trafficked, which are things the government are supposed to prevent. The social contract does not exist to guarantee a comfortable life of any child in the country, rich or poor.It is an irrational survival strategy to put resources into a future person that has a strong likelihood of being fucked over and disenfranchised by the society that they are forced to worked for and pay taxes to. The best case is that they become a willing slave of the state and wageslave as living conditions become worse and the divide between rich and poor widens, worst case they have to live 70-80 years of being a poor person with broken dreams because the system tells them they never tried hard enough. This is where the moral argument for not having children comes in, is it better to not have a kid to prevent them from suffering or to have one in spite of the full knowledge they will have to live a life of bullshit mostly brought onto them by the state? I don't really care about the answer to this moral question and whether it's right or wrong, but it's food for thought. I have made up my mind not to have children through a rational argument.
