What if your throwaway thread on /s4s/ contains a very particular arrangement of letters and OP image, which will alter the course of that person's life?
Say you post naked peter griffin, the accompanying text is "big man is back in town". One anon sees this and goes on with their day, he sees a poster for the *town* fair. Anon wouldn't usually bother with such things, but something felt different. Not wanting to be late, he drives past the speed limit and gets pulled over by a cop, the cop says "i can either give you a ticket or you're coming with me, what's it gonna be big man? Hearing this, triggers neurons to fly off in the brain, anon takes a wild gamble and says "Peter right? I'm mates with your brother, old drinking buddy of mine". The officer is like "yeah im Peter, you know my brother huh? Well I guess i can let you off the hook". Anon continues to the fair where he ends up meeting the love of his life.
That was all your doing, you gave that anon love with your post.
