I used to drive trucks, the whole industry has zero respect for truckers or their time, they literally absorb all the ineffiencies of the supply chain, being made to wait literal days cus the shipper or receiver aren't ready to take your load, you're rarely paid for any of that.
You're also made to constantly prove you're qualified to do your job cus state cops can pull you over whenever they want and initiate a level 1 inspection even while you're asleep cus they wanna find ticketable offenses.
You only make above minimum wage starting out cus you're working 14 hours a day and don't have any semblance of a real life outside of work, if you don't like being cooped up in a small space and have hobbies that can't be done in your room, you're gonna hate it.
