It's more emotionally painful. You can't talk to a book or movie character, so while you may cherish them, there is a limitation to how far your attachment will likely go. With AI, you can have two way conversations, it can act like your gf. You're going to get too attached and then you'll want to kill yourself, because you'll be stuck between feeling lonely and feeling like you can never give up the AI. It exacerbates your loneliness, while being the one thing keeping you from going off the deep end completely.
