Hello esfores. Today is finally the day. We made it, Day 30 of the September Flube Break. A little late today since I won't be giving you all an update tomorrow, so I wanted to record the events of today, today! Honestly, between yesterday and today there isn't much to say. Pretty ordinairy stuff like going to the gym going to work, talking to my girlfriend, etc. So I'll give you guys all a break from that today and let this journey end quietly. No fanfare, no flashy celebration, just another day. I'm happy that I accomplished my goal and am looking forward to seeing how much further I can go from here. Since this post is so short, I'll just jump right into the #1 anime on my list of Top 10 anime of all time:#1 FLCLThis show legitimately changed my life. I remember staying up late one night as a young lad waiting for Family Guy on Adult Swim like the TV Guide said. Instead, this crazy anime came on and I was glued to screen from start to finish. Being a young boy, of course I related to Naota and his coming-of-age, and I couldn't have wished for a more perfect way to experience FLCL for the very first time; completely by accident. There are few anime out there that I would call "perfect" and this is one of them. From the 6-episode runtime to the soundtrack, the animation to the characters, the story to director commentary; there is not a single thing that I do not love about this anime. The only complaint I have is that I wish the sequels didn't exist. On the bright side, though, putting the original side-by-side with its sequels just prove that FLCL is not something that could simply be replicated and copy, no, it was a passion project created when GAINAX was at its peak creativity. Everything was in the right place when this show was made and it will forever hold the #1 spot in my heart as my favorite anime of all time.
