People these days are dying more from suicide/homicide than from natural causes. Almost as if it's becoming harder to die from an illness now that scientists have pretty much found a cure for everything. Pretty interesting stuff is happening.
>>
Too bad science ain't never gonna cure stupidity
>>
unlike people in those days

i had a rough trip recently
i ate some shroomage and went to sleep, then woke up a few hours later peaking
i thought about the world and cried for a while, and every time i closed my eyes i saw claws growing from my hands, and i knew in that moment that i was no longer human, which is to say i had become a monster
at other times i saw odd red fibrous things, like red, animal copper wire, moving across a field of grey, and i had the impression that i was seeing inside of myself somehow
eventually it got better

my sibling in christ, what on earth are you talking about?

How does a shotgun to the head takes 1.8 minutes to kill you?
Hit by train being a 7.08 on agony is also bs.
I've been hit by a truck and the shock prevents you from feeling anything for a good 30 minutes. If it's lethal, you're unlikely to feel anything.
Hanging being 25.5 also seems like bs, I've blacked out from strangulation and it doesn't hurt at all, it's just some pressure and then everything goes black.

it's averaged out, so the people that sort of miss and blow half their head off then get taken to the hospital to die slowly over the course of a few days drag the percentage up
same principle with the rest. if you chicken out with a train but don't make it off the tracks in time it might take off your leg, leaving you in agony for a protracted period of time before you actually bleed out

Counting the people that failed in the Agony and Time statistics is kinda pointless unless your goals is to dissuade people from committing suicide.
It muddles that data.

the statistics are from lostallhope (.com) which is a site that talks about ways of killing yourself. they obviously say suicide is bad but also give solid advice for how to pull it off if you've made up your mind
i'm not the one who posted it, but i recognize it
pretty sure the stats are kind of old/half assed in the first place though. metastudies of suicide data put death by shotgun at ~90% successful (though they don't usually select for where people actually shoot themselves)
