okay anonymous
im not quoting anyone inb4 its a greentext story like the ones you find youtube compilations of
> be me
> woke up
> went to work but the day started like shit because the patch on my skin was detaching for no reason. i reapplied and took my MEDS
> spent 30 minutes in a coffee break speaking with my friend
> started working on this internal document ive been working for a while on. fucking finally my office lead started reading it but hes too boomer to accept he can NOT read it and prompt questions about it to an AI RAG. fixed some stuff there
> went lunch with some coworkers and discussed starting a JAV evening where we do intellectual commentary for YT clout. the idea was found FUNNY
> had a meeting with an intern who is doing his applied master thesis or whatever and he has 0 understanding of anything. im trying to be helpful and i gave him the simplest task possible
> 45 minutes coffee break
> prompted chat GPT with how to continue my proof and got a bunch of shit AI slop. decided it was time to open a fucking book but then fed it to AI slop RAG and asked question to AI about the book until some intuitions came out of it
> went back home and done nothing for hours, bedrotting
> played overwatch
> going to the gym rn at 11pm and will finish my day with shower and skin routine

happy?

What is your job? Prompting AI to write documents?

its kinda good actually
>>13241943
mostly, yes. writing documents or writing code, both things at this point consists of prompting AI. but hey, we have some open AI slop models and i set up the shit myself with RAGs/reasoning and an internal token system and users can set up agents with their own contexts and such. obv i made the code for this with claude code. right now im running like 4+ agents at all times and i have admin privileges on the machine running inference so i can just not care about the tokens lol tbf in big 2026 a productive employee is just a lazy one whos good at prompting. if you dont prompt and run 3+ agents in 2026 you are unc productivitywise

It's weird seeing people with AI so deeply integrated in their lives. I have it disabled on everything. Like I have an extension to disable AI search results and I have the AI thing on my phone as disabled and muted as I can.

The difference being as a coder AI saves you immense amounts or time. It's not like your anime waifu or tiktok subtitle slop. AI has a genuine function in helping with code

I don't code. From what I've seen as a user from AI coded games is that they take longer and come out worse. That could just be the companies though. Most of what AI has been in my life is a search engine and it didn't make that better. The best it did was copy and paste reddit comments which is like... just show me the reddit comment then.

its a rat race. i work in R&D and people are extremely competitive, you are forced to be at the edge. i dont use AI in my free time unless im working on a personal project. >>13241962
gets it. i have the AI bloat on my stuff too (i use Arch btw). i have coding agents doing different stuff on two different prototypes im working on (i have always a write, test, and "experiment" agent). An agents speaks with other agents to speak with me about the repos lol i have an agent that reads a paper on relevant literature every 10 minutes and prompts me if it finds it relevant and if i want to expand my context with that in. an agent for algebra/calculus and one to discuss my proofs. thats how big 2026 is, new meta really. do i like this?! honest work id say. just know this is how some offices are operating rn xD

false equivalent because games and art are just that so we will revile any AI involved

Any one with a soul reviles it being used in a creative context.

are you being paid more for your increased productivity?
>>
>>13241982
That just sounds like you're doing 6 jobs for the pay of 1 person. I haven't seen anything good AI has produced either. It sure makes a lot of stuff but it's slop in my experience as a user.
>>13241986
Well that's why I included the search engine example too. I'm not anti-AI or anything. I just don't see what the point is. It hasn't made anything good but so many people use it. For me it has only made trying to find information through search engines or browse stuff like youtube worse.

i believe this is just people being scared of new stuff. you can make great art with AI, actually the greatest art is made with AI. humans are just not able to think of that kind of art yet. the competences have not emerged yet. every studio is using AI btw, all employees coding have claude code plugin on VSCode. people just like cherrypicking poor results to feed their biases

dubs i think i am

the way you describe using it is not good for you, as in the cognitive offloading of any mental task you don't feel like working through yourself. I agree it is a powerful tool that can be used to solve problems humans and traditional computing can't, maybe it can also streamline tedious things like writing code. But using it to shortcut our most basic processes of taking in information and critical analysis...what do you think will happen to brains that constantly offload that critical thinking work to ai? Also, is this the best use of the resources that ai consumes, considering all of the larger scale problems these could be instead be applied to solving? (dubs)

You think us too primal and archaiac as to not grasp the greater connotations of AI. It's not that anyone hates it nor it's function and execution much less it's demonstrably proven useful less

It's just gay -_-

its the same thing that happened with the PC. im not saying that i work for 6 people (everything is still limited by me, i have to coordinate everything), but for 3 maybe yes... i dont want to be the other two guys though z.z most of the software you currently use is made with AI, your OS probably to begin with. AI multiplies the slop produced of course - its easy to produce slop, but also the high quality stuff.
>>13242009
this is an interesting question... i dont think im losing critical thinking, im just changing the way it operates. people will change with technology. socrates wrote 0 books because he was saying that real knowledge was in the brains and books made you a retard. now he only lives through plato's books lol and plato is not a retard. i might forget how to do the tedious steps in certain arguments but really do i need to do symbolic gauss elimination shit when a PC can now do it with 0 of my effort? there is so much stuff that was relevant and forgotten. is it bad that civil/mech engineers have not been even learning graphical statics because software does it by itself? they are learning other stuff. thats it -

>most of the software you currently use is made with AI, your OS probably to begin with
Well that's kind of what I'm talking about. Windows just keeps getting worse and slower and less user friendly. Microsoft's video game portion specifically is getting fucked right now. They are having tons of layoffs that are still ongoing. Their games have gigantic expenses and take forever to make but they keep flopping and they all use AI. Now I know AI isn't the only symptom. My point is that AI isn't doing anything to make these games cheaper, faster to produce or better. I use video games as my example a lot because I know of them the most.

Guide to fortunes for newfags:

You can check your fortune by typing "fortune" without quotes in the Options field of your post. You need to do so in order to post on [s4s].

Tips and tricks: You can combine the "fortune" and "sage" option by inputing "fortunesage" without quotes or "sagefortune" without quotes into the Options field. You can do a "shadow fortune" by checking your fortune like usual, then including a spoiler tag at the end of your post without a closing tag. To include a spoiler, select the text you want to place a spoiler over, then press Control + s on your keyboard.

for more information on saging, please read this:
