$60 doesn't even cover the basic materials. So you'd be running at a loss from the onset. Good luck with that. Not a viable business plan.

You’re really stretching it there, unless you’re factoring in your machine, supplies, labor and knowledge to acquire the means to labor…

You’re definitely making a profit
>>
>>13264424
How much do the materials cost? 375 seems crazy for the finished product, I'd have guessed like 100-200 tops. They do look very nice and well made though
>>
>>13264758
Honestly, I don't need to justify my pricing to anyone. But I'll give you the general formula most artists or craftsmen use to determine total cost: cost of materials + (hours worked x hourly rate) + % of workshop costs (electricity, machine maintenance, expertise or skill level) + design time + correspondence time with client, + advertising and promotion time, etc., + % of those costs as profit.

Materials costs always include shipping materials, fabrics, thread, large equipment purchase percentage until paid, replacement for things that wear with use like pins, needles, chalk, pencils, etc., interfacing, stabilizer, washaway stabilizer, polyfil, tracing paper and oak tag for patterns, etc.

Most artists don't charge for all their actual work hours. For example, each Bury Pink actually gets about 39 hours of work, excluding design time. I typically charge for actual sewing time, both hand sewing and machine sewing, embroidery time, stuffing time, and finishing time. I don't charge for pattern layout time on four different colored fabric, fabric cutting time, post cutting prep (which includes interfacing layout, marking, cutting, ironing, re-cutting, etc.), embroidery prep and finishing, shipping prep and time spent going to the post office (which is 22 miles away because I live in the boonies). I charge for about half of the actual hours that go into one plush.

So $375 is a deal for the level and quality of work involved. If you can afford it, great! If you can't, then you can't. I deserve to make a profit. My clients deserve a top quality plush.

Thank you for reading my plushie blog.
>>
>>13264813
I understand they are high quality but no one in the world is dropping almost $400 for a plushy, sorry.

Not reading all that, Just be glad you weren’t born in china LOL
>>13264820
He should just make the price 400 atp bc honestly 375 is a slap in the face, but it’s not like I’m expecting the upper echelons of s4s to know the price of a dollar

I bet if I showed a Mexican manufacturer I could get like 10 custom plushies for 400
>>
>>13264813
I agree with u beary maker anon, the reality is anons could always learn and DIY one themselfes if they really wante and it is not nice to try and haggle you. You know the value of your time and materials and what you need to charge make the project worthwhile without being greedy. I hope u find people to keep ordering them because I think it's really cool that u do this. Maybe if u felt like it u could even make a thread of u making one so anons could see and try to do a simple one themselves if they want? just a idea :) Thanks for all you're hard work beary maker but pls be careful to maintain balance of ebil and nice and espesiceally not 2 many ebils!! <3
