What happens, scientifically, when you get swallowed alive/vored? I imagine you would start suffocating immediately, but will the acid kill you also? Is it tight—what is stopping you from breaking free using your hands, fingernails and teeth? Or would it be smart to carry a knife just in case?I'm curious because in most media it makes getting vored look pretty comfortable, e.g. Attack On Titan where they're just chilling in a pond of stomach acid, but then you can find real videos online of stuff getting eaten by a pelican, and the animal always thrashes around a lot inside the pelican but somehow cannot free itself
>>16985392Vomit is made of stomach acid. That should tell you a lot about how caustic the stuff actually is.The thing that would kill you is suffocation. You're trapped in an anoxic environment while being constricted from all sides.

>>16985414OK but what is stopping me from kicking my way out (ie straightening my body until I am longer than the stomach) or biting/clawing my way out?
>>16985516Probably whatever stopped you from escaping the swallowing in the first place. If whatever ate you was capable of just straight up eating you, its digestive muscles are probably strong enough to hold you in place.
don't eat live eels

>>16985516>straightening my body until I am longer than the stomachthat's why snakes are longer than you, so even straight you fit inside. animals that are shorter than snakes just chew you into small pieces first, it's all well designed
