what is preventing science from discovering/inventing time travel?
if time travel were real then would all complexity classes collapse to constant time? And so if P =/= NP gets proved it would follow that time travel is impossible?
>>16987731what about Closed timelike curves?
We are already travelling in time if you want to travel backwards in time just flip your clock so the numbers run in the negative
>>16987736what about them?
Materials science
your mom, she's taking too much space, and time, get it?
>>16987730time dilation is a thing but time travel doesn't make any sense unless you disprove causality
>>16987838>>16987811CTC's break causality
>>16987838You're literally time-traveling right now.
>>16988047yeah, but time-travel to the past. Possible or not?
me, mostly
Entropy
>>16987730Time isn't real
>>16987730Every night in dreams I can travel through space/time while staying conscious. Penrose was right, people with enough distance have different time association. On the short term visions of the future of myself I still change them on the fly.
>>16988055Define "past"
>>16987730The Langoliers.
>>16988559>>16988055If we could swap quantum realities, then we could probably time travel back to different ones as well; dunno if you could get home with any regularity, and you would likely die from uninhabitable or alternate astronomical positions.
>>16987730we dont even know basic things like how to detect gravitons, the shape of the universe, or how move at fractions of the speed of light
