Why are the Japanese the only ones researching this?
>>16988291Teeth implants are 5k each
>>16988297The entire implant process takes 6-12 months. Dentists are going to Luigi those Japs.
>>16988321Wrong.
>>16988291the results were supposed to be released in 2024 and they still aren't out yet baka>whybecause they are so advanced that even if somebody else researches it, the japanese will take the nobel prize anyway
>>16988355Human trials just started a few months ago.
>>16988359pretty sure the first data of the first human trials should already be available. I don't remember the date, but when I looked it up before it was overdue

>>16988374>https://toregem.co.jp/en/news>USD 5 Millionthat's peanuts for a drug of that potentialit means they have nothing

Do you have any dormant teeth?
>>16988374>Toregem will conduct Phase II clinical trials of TRG035, a humanized anti-USAG-1 antibody, in Japan,>[and] prepare for future clinical development in the United States,>>16988374https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1307562/#sec2>born with extra teethSo the idea currently is people with teeth that failed to mature will be given doses of a USAG antagonist, if it works it works, there would have to be more research after that.As a bonus you also have some level of enhanced kidney protection, I guess.
>>16988291Man there are new dental breakthroughs every other week apparently but none of them ever actually make it to your local dentist
>>16988291rhis made me so happy. ever since I heard this is a thing, I stopped brushing my teeth
>>16988562Me too, saar.
>>16988291You seen those plastic surgery victims who have uncontrolled growths under their face from having sus shit injected into them? Imagine that but with your jawbone.
>>16988291Japan is like China, except they have slightly better PR
Can't wait to do root canals on the new teeth that the average 85IQ American also ruins with HFCS and SSRIs. I'm very curious about this process but I have several questions that I haven't seen addressed anywhere: 1. How does this work in patients who have been missing teeth for many years and have severe mandible resorption/maxilla pneumatization? Most of the time there's only a few cm of bone left in the mandible and an eggshell of bone in the maxilla after 1-2 decades with no teeth. 2. If you are only missing a few teeth, how do you stop it from regrowing a whole set and pushing out all of your current remaining teeth that are completely fine? 3. What is the timeline for growth? Most people at my practice balk at the 12 month process for implants and go for Bridges instead which can be finished inside of a month Using it to treat congenital anodontia is cool though
>>16988550Most of the time they're too expensive and insurance doesn't cover them
>>16988291See...>>16988701>Japan is like China, except they have slightly better PRThis quite literally, because...>https://www.dongascience.com/en/news/78025>Sichuan University team restores aged teeth by activating dental pulp stem cellsThe Chinese are also researching the same thing now.>>16988402You'd be surprised sometimes at how stuff gets mis-valued; sometimes you can buy a few percent of a publicly-traded early-stage biotech for six figures and it turns into eight figures with later good clinical trial results.
>>16988291DARPA might be, I know they are working on getting a blood substitute that's shelf stable in situ ready in the next 3 years or so.Would be better if they listed what was actively being worked on because shit like Arcadia, BETR and BRACE are kinda wacky
>>16988291>Why are the Japanese the only ones researching this?Because the japs are snaggletooth ching chongs who especially need this technology.
>>16988291There isn't much call for it, because most people have pretty good teeth these daysSome kind of enamel replacement would be useful.
>>16988291The American Dental Cartel would whack anyone working on this in USA>
>>16988995>dongasciencedo they do research on penis enlargement as well?
>>16989423They have that already its called a crown
Still haven't heard if you have any dormant tooth buds.Because you all misunderstand what it is. It's about growing congenitally absent teeth. Not you fucking ate piles of sugar and lost teeth so now you grew new ones.
