>Okay, imagine being handed a piece of string, getting blindfolded and then being let into a warehouse the size of the sun. Somewhere in that space a needle is floating around. Your chance to needle it in the first 30 seconds is about 3 magnitudes higher than you hitting ANY object from here to the outer edges of the milky way.

You don't actually believe this, right?

What does your gut say about what happens when solar systems with such proportions pass through each other? Will anything collide?

The numbers are exaggerated BUT the core message is correct. Space is empty as fuck.

Wait till you find out that atoms are 99.9997% empty space too

They did an experiment where a single electron was shot from a gun at a gold foil, and 99% of the time it went straight through, but very rarely it would be reflected at a sharp angle, meaning it struck the center of a gold atom

>atoms are 99.9997% empty space too
>clearly shows illustration where the atom is not empty
Not only that there is no such thing as "empty space", even the inbetweens of shorter wavelength phenomena such as electrons and protons are filled with a constant stream of photons, as is the entirety of the outer cosmos
>>
>>16997223
Uhhhhhhhhhh yeah? Your retarded analogy actually undersells how empty space is because the solar system already has 1000's of sun volumes of completely empty space
>>
If your stay steady you can achieve that. Have feet gently hold down your knees. Tips and tricks from mom that sows with needles. Very impressive.
>>
Oh the sun I just looked at the picture
>>
>>16997223
Are we talking about a european needle or a african needle?
>>
Think the best part is the empty space of the atoms, makes it comfortable to compress and make its way to the sun. I would say perfect idea but almost perfect
>>
We’re obviously talking about the sun
>>
John Cena’s face says it all because how in the fuck is that going to work? Either way sounds exciting
>>

Firing something directly in that direction will hit the moon. Considering that the moon is visible in the sky, does that not suggest a relatively high likelihood of hitting it? Naively, it should just be the proportion that the moon covers the sky, which is at least a lot larger than a needle thread inside of the sun.

Next step is wonder why there was such a force that caused matter to spread out so much. If matter was densely packed at the beginning of the universe it must have had a lot of gravity, maybe like a black hole, but something could stretch the entire thing. Do scientists realize that they are actually studying pic related?

are there ways to use the knowledge that i am 99.9997% empty space to improve my life?

Im gonna need that in hectares
