Electrical engineer here. I absolutely hate this bullshit. Current should flow in the same direction as electrons. Postive should be an electron reservoir. Simple as. We could have been living on the moon with flying cars by now if it wasnt for this bullshit.

Does the minute hand move away from 12 or towards 12?

Why would "negative" be associated with an abundance?

This is something most EE students overcome in their first week of college, if not already in high school. I somehow doubt that a retard like yourself managed to graduate and get a job.

electrons are not always the charge carrier in an electric current
while it may seem that the choice for electrons being negatively charged is unfortunate, being comfortable with the convention imparts a certain amount of mastery over the physical model by preventing one from being overly rigid

Electrons are fake and gay. Return to the land.

Look, it's like asking mutts to stop measuring things in football fields and washing machines, and start measuring in meters and kilometers.
It just can't be done, okay?

those are a few layers of abstraction below you for a reason. leave the thinking about it to physicschads

I would, but I'm too weak and retarded.

Because current is driven by potential, not electrons themselves.

Away from twelve for 12-6 and toward the 12 from 6-12.

It's not an (independently) arbitrary choice, it's based on the choice of electric potential sign and Ohm's law

Isn't it just a matter of convention?
I thought electrical engineers use + for the current source instead of - because electronics were invented before physicists had agreed on what the sign of each particle should be (and got it wrong).
