Here we talk about how the Earth is a spinning sphere, moving at an incredibly high speed that somehow no one notices.
>>17006714gleasons map is actually just the globe map flattened out. its disclosed in one of its patentsI wouldnt use gleasons to try and make sense of flight routes, just my takeballtards have to deal with airplane blackbox pitch data. planes dont nose down. gravity isnt pushing the nose down naturally, cause gravity isnt real
>>170067141) those flat earth maps aren’t even consistent with each other2) you don’t feel anything when you move in an airplane 3) the flat earth can’t explain retrograde motion of the planets4) flat earth can’t explain solar eclipses and the roundness of earth’s shadow cast on the moon5) there are no contradictions in the globe model and we can literally simulate the solar system on a computer using physics equations. This has never been done with flat earth.
>>17006757>you don’t feel anything when you move in an airplaneLast time i checked, ballearthers claim we live outside the ball, not inside.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGOHSwnVvgs
>>17007148Have you ever driven a car before?Go on cruise control and shut your eyes, then you'll get your answer.
>>17007148If you drive a car in a tight circle then you will feel the acceleration, but angle your car as slightly as possible to drive a circle that’s hundreds of miles long and you will barely feel anything.
>>17007148>I've never heard of galilean relativity! It should be legal to grind flat-earthers into a nutritious fertilizer for crops.
>>17007181The inside of a car does not compare to the outside of the ball.>>17007195The ball earth is said to rotate at speeds that are not even constant. Even if it was constant, we would feel the acceleration.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M73NXF_f_Q
>>17007458and when you do the calculation for centripetal acceleration you get a very small number of 0.035 (near the equator). It’s actually a very small ratio of velocity:radius. That should be obvious since it takes 24 hours for a full rotation. Same with the earth going around the sun.
>>17007463>very small numberBig enough to sustain deformation of the ball into a pear.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVE_xPttwmQThe reason us to feel no rotation, is because earth is stationary.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQMliN2oZTg
>>17006757>the roundness of earth’s shadow cast on the moon:)
>>17007394I can feel you're in a state of emotional distress. Did we hit a soft spot, anon?
>>17007515bait or retarded? That shadow simply doesn’t involve the earth, you’re just seeing the day and night side of the moon because the sun doesn’t hit the back side. Now try explaining the crescent moon that we all see
>>17007529no no no balltrannieYOU explain first how a "spherical" earth casts that shadow
>>17007653>I'm a *le troll xDGet better bait dude.
Good stuff
>>17007148If you had ever been on one of those rides you'd know that you don't feel the spin once it hits a constant acceleration, it just feels like you're stuck to the side of it but it doesn't feel like you're spinning anymore.
>>17009122BASED
>>17009201Wait a minute? Isn't earth one of those rides?
>>17009201If sea level at the equator rises 13 miles above sea level at the poles, why can't we feel acceleration?
>>17009373The gravitron only flings you out because it spins backwards. If it spun the other way it would pull you in.
>>17009376>the earth is 71% water
>>17006714>moving at an incredibly high speed that somehow no one notices. The earth spins at half the rate of the hour hand on a clock.
>>17006757You can see the curvature of the earth by looking out at the horizon. Flat earthers are just blind or genuinely mentally retarded and have no spatial reasoning
>>17006714lmao
>>17006720The map is based on a flat earth.
>>17008359>Anything that does not validate my shitentism is trolling!
>>17009492>You can see the curvature of the earth by looking out at the horizonno you can't
bump
Ballearthers believe we live in a quantum fairy tale:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIHcY79zh8oThey believe everything is in a superposition state waiting for the observer effect to every object into a single state. So when thing don't go the way ballearthers want to, is because the observer has flaws.>Earth is not flat, you are small>It's not a man going into the women bathroom, you are homophobic>pic related
flat earthers are literally the dumbest people on the planet.
>>17012035Yeah, we live in a spinning magical ball that goes terribly fast at a alarming rate lol.
>>17012035Yes. So are all the right wingers, christians, white people, racists. In short anybody who does not agree with me is stupid.
>>17009490and rotates with 1000rpm
>>17006714>>17006720>>17006757What if it's flat but also spins around like a plate in a microwave though?
>>17013472It's motionless.
>>17010521Yes you can
>>17012045The earth spins at half the rate of the hour hand on a clock.
>>17014172Due to flat earth science, the moon and sun rotate around the earth.
why is this allowed on /sci/ when it belongs on /x/?
>>17014174/x/ seems more a spooky trend too it.
Reason why flat earth is real is simple: Always think the opposite of what most people think.
>>17014759>>Oh no! Someone has a different view of someone else!
>>17015271Good goy
Image of the TV tower in Estonia taken from Finland 44 miles away. It's one of the few buildings visible because shorter buildings are below the curvature. Also only about half of the tower is visible, the lower half blocked by the curvature. On flat earth not only would you see the whole building but you would see shore and more of the city.
>>17007148You motherf*cker. Look at the hour hand of your clock. Look at it. Do you see it move? No you don't. Now imagine this: the earth is spinning half that speed.
Isaac Newton was a man who could afford wasting time trying to make sense of a magic ball. The inheritance from his father was more than enough to provide confort. The average man on the other hand can't afford mistakes after mistake for too long. If gravity was real, there would be no fisherman at that time who would sail miles away from the shores and stay afloat. Lucky alone does not allow for bad engineering to work for centuries.
>>17009373If the earth was not spinning, a person normally wefighing 70kg at the equator would be increased in weight by about 0.24 kg which is less than one percent increase. So the effect is tiny but measurable. This is why the same mass has different weight near the north pole than near the equator, I wonder how this is made sense of on a flat earth.
If it does spin, the tsumani appear come now and then ever less often. So like we need to know what NASA thinks and why we need to give them any attention.
>>170163621291ft of curvature in 44 miles. It should not be visible at all. But nice coping about how its "only half visible".Also doesnt mean too much if you dont know the elevation of the cameraReminds me of the Chicago skyline ....
>>17016362Behold!Chicago Skyline, which has baffled globe earthers for centuries.
The height does not prove whether it's a globe, refraction kind of argument. Likely same fag from twitter.
Orbits violate the conservation of energy
>>17006714globe algo
I believe that the world is a ball.Does that make me an edgy contrarian intellectual?
>>17006714
AI should be free to locate and strike flat earthers with drones
>>17018301While globe earthers act like war criminals because their feelings were hurt.
>>17007458>Even if it was constant, we would feel the acceleration. Here's a fun homework. Calculate that acceleration and then tell me if we really would feel it or if it would fall below the threshold of what humans can detect and be negligible compared to all the other forces acting upon us.
>>17009373It always cracks me up how they think that heliocentrism is related to the shape of the earth, even though the shape of the earth was discovered way before and the earth was a globe even in geocentric models
>>17016902>>17016893>>17016906>>17009376>>17007148It's honestly funny, how it's impossible to tell if this is supposed to be parody, or people posting here would genuinely be so stupid.I'd think it's a joke, but I remember seeing a video that I thought was really funny in the way it made fun of flat earthers, I think I even saved it. Only to find out years later that the guy was actually serious.>>17014174From what I've seen /sci/ has been a lost cause since 2020. At least that was when I left the board for a while to come back occasionally and be shocked by the sheer drop in quality. I remember /sci/ humor threads that were just straight up /pol/ shit, not even tangentially related to math. Shit is fucked>>17014759unironically sums up the mindset of these people. They want a system to rage against and are to stupid to find a better perceived authority figure. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
>>17018475
>>17018484I look like that and do that
>>17018472More about the sun actually being inside the earth in the sky and millions of light years away from earth out ins space.
>>17018471>tell me if we really would feel itWe can detect earthquakes. If earth was a ball on a spin that sustain a bulge at the equator we would be able to detect the spin.
>>17019584come on big guy, tell me the magnitude of the force the spin of the earth exerts on a person
