Can a billionaire waste billions on aging research and not get any results?
>>17009448Unless they were really stupid in how they allocated the research money, it's unlikely they wouldn't get any result. But money doesn't automatically guarantee very much in the way of results. Spending a billion dollars on aging research might result in knowledge that increases a particular individual's life by a year or two. Probably better off making use of what's already known and actually sticking to it.
>>17009448Imagine lusting after being here.........forever
You can spend a billion on anything and not get any results, what the fuck is this thread.
>>17009448Absolutely. But Bryan Johnson already has some results, he's just wasting a tremendous amount of money and over-testing lot of useless biomarkers while ignoring more important ones (see his recently diagnosed autoimmune stomach problem that his whole medical team missed for years, for example...)
>>17009459forgive them they havent died yet
>>17009459Weak.
>>17009448Likely. Yes. Can waste a lot of effort chasing telomeres and senolytics.
Because no one has put any real effort in. We have been killing people and animals for creams. And some little things about vitamins but no one has gone balls out like BJ and sacrificed all his happiness to try. Yeah, drink water, eat meat, work out, live rurally, stay active and strong is one way but genetics also play a massive part in ageing research. Because of how complex genetics are, there are so many profiles in the world it's difficult to know who to study and try shit on. Like, rural Italians drink wine, eat pasta, smoke and do little and live longer than people in other countries because they are simply happy. Happiness seems to beat anything else right now. Sicily has 80 year old whinos flirting and smoking cigs all day why the Europe has 14 year old super-fit athletes dropping dead of heart attacks. Living like a monk seems to be one of the best ways. People do seem to be looking younger as they get older in general as our lives have become way less stressful. Yeah we worry about money and housing but we aren't being bombed and even when there are wars people in certain countries never feel any effect of it, just see videos on the news. There are brutal conflicts all over the world and the average office worker doesn't even have a clue about any of it.
>>17009448You can spend entire lives and riches beyond comprehension but often you end up with something else that's arguably just as valuable. Like gunpowder (most accepted theory is that it came out of research into immortality in China under very generous patronage of the emperor)
>>17009481“My stomach is eating itself”Isn’t that from triggering autophagy or fasting or related supplements…You can take ones which increase response like ginger or licorice…I know longevity researchers don’t understand disease pathology at all. They are autistically focused on their own micro studies.

>>17009448Who said any findings would be made public?Absence of evidence does not mean evidence of absence. SENS gets no press. There's surely a reason for that if people like George Soros would be highly interested in nature's such secret.
Anti aging is a optimization problem, good luck waiting retard
>>17009448Why not just extend your lifespan the old fashioned way: Diet and Exercise?
>>17010233I wonder if there's even going to be enough left of Soros's soul to be worth torturing in hell.
>>17011069Hes an ethical man
It requires the ultimate piss.
Yes, and it's also possible for a middle class citizen to spend little on aging research and get results.
>>17011070Sitting in his ethical landMaking all his ethical plans for everybody?
>>17009448I honestly have little idea on how to approach the subject of aging. Like Sinclair is an obvious snake oil salesman but my current approach at looking at the effects of aging isolated by organs doesn't feel like the best approach either. Shits hard.
