woah. I never thought it that way. Do you guys think it's possible that the universe is conscious?
>>

>There are more neurons in the brain than stars in the obversable universe.
That's not even true. Not even close within a few orders of magnitude.
>>
>>17009510
if you haven't thought about this by age 6 you are a certified NPC
>>
>>17009510
No, consciousness is a property of a local observer, so it’s effectively ‘trapped inside your head’ but also each brain-state in your world line exists objectively in a given slice of time, so in that sense, you can say there is an enduring consciousness in the universe. But stars do not form an integrated conscious network like brains do.

>>17009516
I think he meant synaptic connections in the human brain outnumber stars in the Milky Way, which is true
>>
if the universe is a giant brain with stars as neurons then it's a very retarded one because the speed of light is slow af and stars are kinda far away from each other

since the diameter of milky way is about 90 000 light years this consciousness would be pretty slow for our standards
>>
hehe, 42, amIright guys?
*nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink*
that's the IQ of the universe

>universe is conscious
if people are conscious then the universe is
>>
Well, we are all made of the same stuff. Like cosmic dust or bits of stars or whatever the fuck. Something strange happens and from floating rocks came water, fish and humans. So the universe could be a brain.

Yes

the stars are likely part of the plane below

But it's thoughts and awareness is instantaneous. The no-communication theorem is only true for us.
>“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

But where's the series of microtubules
>>
>>17009510
all life is carbon based. carbon are protons, neutrons and electrons. all neutrons, electrons, protons, are functionally same and indistinguishable from one another across all the elements on the periodic table and across the entire universe. So yes.
>>
>>17009510
And like what if the whole universe is just, like, a single atom inside an even bigger universe? My mind is totally blown right now.

What if a supernova is just like, the universe doing DMT? Think about it.
>>
>>17009580
Just like our consciousness would be slow to a nano meter sized brain. What could be interesting is if intelligence requires a minimum speed for thought propagation and the 30cm scale is the only scale for which that works.

What if the universe is a brain and it's retarded
>>
>>17024497
Maybe the universe itself is God and Pantheism is true.
>>
>>17009510
They share similar properties in that they both are configured to maximize entropy.
>>
>>17024505
Pantheism is anti-christian cope based on poor logic.

There are people who really believe these memes btw

Considering the delay between each star to communicate and also between human neurons, how old would the this starbrain be? Well I just calculated it, assuming a distance of 4 light years between each star, human to human neutron communication delay of 0.1 millisecond and the actual age of the starbrain being 13.8 billion years, the age in human equivalent brain time would be 6-7 months but I am bad at math. Also how would the dim light of a star influence another star in any relevant way?

Sometimes I wonder if there is consciousness inside stars or planets, most of the matter is below the surface and and it is under various pressures, maybe at some pressures complex constellations can form that may lead to life. I guess such life would be relatively small compared to the size of the planet or star, which would make it hard to detect.

Woah indeed, no need for shitentists in order to understand God is real.
