>>17011679Listen man, there are two thruths in this world:1. Intelligent live in space exist, because they do not visit us.2. Nukes are fake because we had blown up this planet otherwise.
I think this message will never reach anyone, so it's harmless.I see it as something done for the fun of it, and for that I respect it.

>>17011679why is the arrow from earth to the satellite so long and curvy, aliens would think there is some reason, did the satellite actually travel between jupiter and saturn? why does it matter? and also why is it pointing back to earthalso, they mix in the same drawing the solar system scale, the atom scale and the size of a human scale, it's so arbitrary. if i was an alien i would think humans are overconfident retards, there's dozens of assumptions buried in the drawing that aliens can only guess at
They’re going to trace it back to us and come take our stuff.
>>17011679No but I don't have the hind sight to confirm it either way it's either a waste of time or asking to be invaded
>>17011679As humans, how do we decipher the damn thing? I get the male female thing. But ....What's with the arc and rectangle? What are the two balls at the top left? Why are the planets labelled with a I-I-, I--II, II-I-, I--III, etc?Does the star map show the relative orbits of the various planets and their moons? And the line pointing through the humans is us?
>>17011704Isn't one of them going out quite off the ecliptic?
>>17011679No one is going to find it anyways or at least until a very very long time and it was a fun experiment.
>Pluto still at the right place
>>17011679>hey aliens, we have 4 gas giants acting as a chaotic shaking machine to accelerate natural selection. On the off chance that you slime molds crawl off your planet and catch this, you should try getting some yourselves
>>17011733If I remember correctly:The two balls at the top left are hydrogen atoms and it's to measure distance with a universal constant. The planets are labelled in order of the sun and I think the "names" are relative distances from each other but I could be wrong. The star map is our sun in the centre with relative lines to the nearest pulsars.
>>170117331 size of the space craft 2 hydrogen atom at lowest states. .7 billionth of a second3 distance from the sun in binary, 1010 = 10 units = mercury4, no, distance to galactic center is the horizontal line, the star looking thing is distance to closest pulsar
>>17011714they will take the most precious resource of our civilization: our jobs!
>>17011679With the way weirdos on earth fetishize alien creatures, do you think this image would end up in some zeno's spank bank?
fuk off space niggers we're full
>>17011704It's showing the gravity assist from Jupiter, right?
>>17011679>tens of thousands of years to reach the nearest stars let alone having a slight chance of being foundInconsequential
>>17011679They have to teach woman to be equal with aliens and wave their hands as well, no be some dizzy birthing body.
>>17011679why didnt they draw the vagina? they drew the dick and balls. wouldnt it be important to draw the vagina?
>>17012037and the woman is looking on, like a view passing them. Talk to the man on Earth first!
>>17011679It's all fine. The pulsar data is wrong (shitty measurements with the tech of that era) so it doesn't actually point to the Solar System. The aliens will be looking in the wrong place.
maybe
>It's not a map>It's a warning
>>17011679They come down to Earth and find a naked, waving man!
>>17012037The vagina is internal, you can't see it outsideThe external part is called vulva and often can't be seen from this angle
>>17012102But... anon, women in the 70s had real bush.
>>17012037The woman's genitals are not depicted in detail; only the mons pubis is shown. It has been claimed that Sagan, having little time to complete the plaque, suspected that NASA would have rejected a more intricate drawing and therefore made a compromise just to be safe.[9] Sagan said that the decision to not include the vertical line on the woman's genitalia (pudendal cleft) which would be caused by the intersection of the labia majora was due to two reasons. First, Greek sculptures of women do not include that line. Second, Sagan believed that a design with such an explicit depiction of a woman's genitalia would be considered too obscene to be approved by NASA.According to astronomer Frank Drake, there were many negative reactions to the plaque because the human beings were displayed naked.[19] When images of the final design were published in American newspapers, one newspaper published the image with the man's genitalia removed and another newspaper published the image with both the man's genitalia and the woman's nipples removed.[20] In one letter to a newspaper, a person angrily wrote that they felt that the nudity of the images made the images obscene.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_plaque
>>17012109It's deeply ironic how far social taboos can go, even when we are assuming this artifact could be the only evidence of humanity in the distant future.

>>17011679It was a colossal waste of money like every other program involving outer space. We can't even get poverty and education under control yet we're dreaming of leaving this rock? If all the money ever spent on NASA was used on welfare, public schools and improving opportunities for black people then we would be in a much better America today with less crime and even less racism too I bet
>>17012242
>>17011679Even if it isn't, it won't really matter. By the time any aliens find it and come here then all they'll find is some planet of the apes shit, a world populated by 90IQ mystery meat golems who would be even less capable of deciphering that message than an alien race would.
>>17012242i cant affoh to geet my keeds new jordans and whitey on da moon?
>>17011679For it times, yes
When I watched Project Hail Mary, I was confused as to why Grace didn't just frisbee his ship's copy of the golden plaque over to Rocky's ship. It would have been easier than spot welding the location of Earth's sun on to Rocky's diorama.
>Broadcasting Earths exact position and technological state for all of eternity if evil aliens pick it up they know exactly where to invade Boomers literally doomed all of humanity through all of eternity
>>17013588They already know our planet holds life from looking at the spectral emissions from our atmosphere, which have been broadcasting "WATER AND OXYGEN" for the last billion years. The decision to send in the replicating death bots would have been made long before they found voyager. Frankly it's a lot harder to detect that and also pick it up than it is to detect earth. Voyager is moving at like 61,000km/h.
>>17011679Not good, not bad, just pointless retarded posturing. Like aliens are gonna have fucking record players
>>17013862nvm im dumb and thinking of the voyager recordstill, it's stupid
>>17011679Yes if the aliens have a sense of irony. Mars has no gravity, neither has saturn , metric is not to understand w/o a hint to the wave characteristics and the worst subniggers on earth (WASPs) doing a moooh we come in freedom sign. Hilarious.
>>17011810They put lust for gold in our DNAs and gonna come pick it up and leave us with tokens for TacoBell.
