can a medcel please help me I'm so close to roping >experiencing internal swaying dizziness 24/7 since 2023>just woke up with it one day and it never went away>got horrifically worse in the past year>can't walk well without staring at my feet>dropping sensation every 5 seconds >trampoline floor>blurry/bouncing vision when I walk, never had vision problems in my life>lose all balance in dark rooms or with eyes closed things that COULD be contributing to it but my neurologist thinks is unlikely:>5mm low lying cerebellar tonsils>"1.2cm asymmetric enlargement of the right cerebellopontine angle cistern favored to be related to the presence of an arachnoid cyst. "I saw an ENT who said my ears look normal and the only nystagmus I tested positive for was "subtle DBN" which according to google can implicate chiari but my neurologist thinks I just have vestibular migraine or PPPD. My hearing is fine. what would you do if you were in my shoes, what is the next step you would take
I'd take a shot of whiskey and stop being a BITCH.
>>17016269nigga I CAN'T
>>17016268It's really hard to say anon. Try to get multiple sources usually just consulting one expert isn't going to help, they all have their internal bias and beliefs. I had a similar problem due to bad posture for me : trying to have a good posture and eating less inflammatory food helped a lot. You can do sport to muscle your neck and get better spinal support, but idk if it'll work for you I'm a EE engineer lol
>>17016268vertigo from ear crystals? have you tried the Epley Maneuver? if you've seen doctors though they should have ruled this out already.
>>17016268That’s a loss of proprioception, dude.
>>17016337yep, my ears are normal.>>17016348I just don't know how it happened. I'm otherwise very healthy. It's getting worse. I wasted the first two years of my dizziness focused on my ears and vestibular system, thinking only that can cause internal motion. >>17016321yeah it's so doompilled because this hospital is in the top 5 in the world so if a mega mind neurologist and ent can't figure it out I'm screwed. posture makes sense though, I will work on that.
long covid
Medfag hereHonestly, there's nothing I can do without a thorough history, physical exam, family history, labs, and possibly imaging especially considering how much workup you've already had. Complicating this, I am not a neurologist, so this robust of a case is well outside my wheelhouse. I'm sorry you're experiencing this, it sounds really miserable. Unfortunately, there are many pathologies out there that are just very poorly understood. "Dizziness" is such a vague complaint that it can be hard to pin down, especially as you describe it being chronic and constant. For clarification, it sounds like you are experiencing vertigo at all times that you are awake. Vertigo meaning "a sensation of movement when no movement is occurring."The fact that you've already had an MRI without diagnosis is puzzling, and I can imagine it's frustrating. I would encourage you to continue to see your Neurologist and, if they are unable to help, ask if they have a colleague who may be willing to do more.
It's not going to be easy to fix your problems. I don't know what your physical condition (fitness) is like, but it's conceivable that poor posture or other musculoskeletal issues could cause such things. I would suggest doing some light calisthenics focusing on skills and mobility. Fixing posture issues is a very personal process because you need to be aware of your own body and proprioception. I've personally gradually fixed neck/back/jaw issues but it's not easy and involved plenty of uncertainty and discomfort.I assume you've had some blood tests but I would get a copy and check your ion (potassium, magnesium etc) levels yourself if possible. Also if your diet sucks your body will never heal from this kind of chronic bullshit. You need vegetables.Good luck out there nigga.
>>17016268You're faking and these symptoms are merely imagined, it's as simple as that.Get back into the wage cage and quit complaining. Unpaid overtime will cure you.
I'd fry my brain with all kind of psychedelics and barbituates
>>17016356>this hospital is in the top 5 in the worlddoesn't mean shit retard-kun
>>17016268are these your only symptoms or is there other shit too you arent listing?
>>17016384>>17016398I was lucky enough to get a different doctor to arrange for a whole spine and new brain mri tomorrow and I really hope something is found of it or else I will just look like a hypochondriac retard>>17016752just the dizziness. Despite being thin I had this weird 3-months long LPR/silent reflux thing where I couldn't stop coughing after eating but it went away on its own without treatment. Not sure if related, but it felt like my dizziness reduced during that time.
>>17016835Well I hope you can get to the bottom of this. I know it sounds strange, but some people who suffer from weird complaints that don't fit our usual pattern of disease respond really well to medications for anxiety or depression. I'm not AT ALL saying you're "just depressed" or that this is a hidden psych issue. It's just possible that your condition may respond well to increased neurotransmitter concentrations in the brain. If you hit a dead end, consider seeking out a psychiatrist. The brain is fucking weird, and sometimes it just needs a little nudge. They may also consider some hypermodern therapies like MRI-guided magnet therapy. >I recognize that this sounds like pseudoscience, but the literature suggests that the targeted magnet therapies can work VERY well in treatment-refractory depression and PTSD, and I suspect we will discover more uses in the coming decades.
>>17016931thank you, I will keep that in mind. my scan in just a few hours. I did screencap your reply for when it inevitably comes back clear. however, I truly hope the reason for my dizziness is tangible with an easy-ish fix, and not just my brain being agro. that feels like a whole different beast.
If you think it's being caused by mass effect from the cyst, try omega-3 to reduce the inflammation and increase the circulation.
>>17016931the targeted magnet therapy is not really just holding magnets up to someone's skull, its focusing a magnetic field so that it concentrates a spot of electricity at a particular place in 3D space. because magnetic fields pass through tissue this lets you reach into the brain and zap it without opening the skull, an absolute game changer in many ways. There is a small risk of seizures and some people require stimulation more frequently than others, but its really quite impressive this guy is right, when it comes to depression
