Why do doctors prescribe the scam of CBT-I for people with chronic insomnia? Where I'm from they are very reluctant to prescribe you drugs and if they do it's Z drugs and it's only for 2 weeks. Benzodiazepines are a last resort and it's still only for 2 weeks. It's terrible for me since I can stay up for 72 hours before heavy drowsiness kicks in and unless I lay in bed I won't fall alseep and when I do I'll only sleep like 3 hours not 8 hours. The worst thing is that when you try to be productive and study while sleep deprived that's when the lack of focus and fatigue kicks in but once you lay in bed thoughts start entering your mind, and the body starts to become achy and makes you move around constantly. It's a terrible curse. Doctors however think it's better to live like an unproductive vegetable for the rest of your life than give you the adequate medicine for proper rest.
Maybe you should try a different kind of CBT..?
>>17016938Drugs make it worse in the long term, which means about a month. At least benzos or Z drugs or any other that has the same mechanism.
>>17016938You're probably a lot better off doing 478 breathing or hypnosis or something vs fucking benzos. Leave your GABA alone retard
>>17017109I've already done that before. Whatever you searched up for a solution I most likely already tried it.
>>17017232If nothing works that means you are the problem, your mindset and self-concept are limiting their efficacy
>>17016938Tell your doctor you understand the risks of dependence and addiction with benzodiazapenes, and the long-term problems they can cause, but your insomnia is wrecking your quality of life and ability to function. Make sure he understands that the other methods completely fail to adequately treat your condition.
>>17017275They're very stubborn so trying to convince them doesn't work. Also there's probably legal ramifications if they prescribe medication for more than 2 weeks and something happens to the patient. They definitely won't risk their career and freedom to make some potentially feel better.
