why were people the only creatures to evolve being scared of the dark
>>
Anon, the dark is fucking scary.
The lion hunts mostly at night.
I once saw this thing about monkeys that all take shelter in a cave at night. They seem wary of the dark too. Even though it was pitch black in the cave. The TV thing got some night cameras in there to film the monkeys in the dark. They didn't get up to anything though, they just got their heads down and had a kip.

actually most prey animals are afraid of the dark

Darkness means (at least to some degree) lack of sensory input for most if not all creatures with light sensory organs.

No organism with an eyeball can truly see perfectly in an environment that lacks their preferred mode and range of light that they use for long distance threat detection, and that tends to make most organisms nervous. It'd be the same if you put a bat in a room that absorbs sound. People (as well as most animals) evolved being scared of not being able to fucking 'see'.

Your question is retarded, delete this thread now.

anon, bats can see just fine. They've got good eyesight. I think you've got some cheek to be demanding the thread be deleted when it's you that's fucking it up with bollocks about bats being blind.

You could have googled and found out that bats express distress when their echolocation is impaired, given that it's their main method of navigation and detection. Instead, you had the impulse to prove you're retarded in public. Kill yourself.

Anon, fucking get it right.
You said put a bat in a room that absorbs sound. OK. But if the room is light, the bat will be fucking fine. I admit I'm inferring that you think bats are blind. But if don't think this, what was your fucking point?
And OP was specifically saying about darkness.
I don't what sucks more - you needlessly dissing OP's thread, or you telling anons to kill themselves.

Give an animal drugs and it would be too, it's peoples big imaginations.

i mean naturally afraid of the dark

Apparently it's a myth that bats can see. The Egyptian fruit bat can see relatively well, and even then still only uses its distance vision, and relies on echolocation close by. In fact the majority of mammals are almost blind compared to us. Our other senses are fairly typical, our hearing has a limited range, but great precision, it's that our eyesight is out of this world, so it overshadows the other senses.

One time, I was living in this big old place in the country... and suddenly this big black flying shape was in the room... it was super fast. It vanished. Nobody believed me when I said I'd seen it. I was thinking it's probably a bat. Don't know how it got in. Spent the next day looking for a bat... couldn't find anything. Was starting to think I'd imagined it.
Then, that night, it was back! in the same room. And this time it just flew around the room... super fast, making what looked like 90 degree turns, like a Tron bike.
I opened the front door. The fucker kept doing laps for a couple of minutes - almost silent too, which was also weird - before it realised the door was open and noped it the fuck out of there.
True story.

Its not even the dark that is scary. What is scary is standing in the light but surrounded by darkness. Its that fear of exposure, things in the dark can see you, but you can't see them.
