If dark matter exists (I think there is strong indirect evidence for it, but won't rule out alternate explanation just yet), then it appears to be some sort of particle(s) that have little or no interactions with each other, aside from gravity. Its really hard to image anything qualify as life arising without constant interactions between the particles in a way analogous to the strong, weak, and electromagnetic forces regular matter has. Imagine trying to build something out of neutrinos.
