Since there is no stupid question that doesn't deserve its own thread. . . Thread I am going to post a question here and it's dumb. How come on humid days my laundry in the dryer actually dries, meanwhile on bright sunny dry days it stays damp at the end of the cycle and I have to put more time in? I am baffled

>>17029536Absolute moisture on a cool humid day could be lower than on a hot dry day which is what the machine cares about since it heats up the air anyways.
>>17029557Oh so it's endothermic because it is cooler outside on the rainy day the hot air will be leaving easier. I guess that makes sense.
>>17029615It could also be the sensor that detects when its dry takes longer to detect the dryness on humid days.
>>17029536the moist air acts as a hydro conductor and grounding plane which makes it easier to remove the water from your clothes
>The water content capacity of air increases exponentially with temperature. Warmer air molecules possess higher kinetic energy, allowing them to sustain more water vapor before condensation occurs. Specifically, for every 10°C increase in temperature, the air’s moisture-holding capacity roughly doubles.
