This is an American meme I suppose. On Reddit the high IQ subs are dominated by people who consider "giftedness" how they call it a kind of deviation, an abnormality in a bad sense. They even use phrases like "I was diagnosed with giftedness".It also seems that all the people who post there are "on a spectrum", again an American thing I believe. So they proudly carry this "twice exceptional" label, and share how much misery it brings them. It's surreal.

Content engagement can still be lacking.-get caught but are too far from schools that have an actual gifted curriculum for you. So your parents have to either move, drive you long distances or have use city transport (in the US lol). Also applicable with taking early university courses/AP, if your too far you can't leverage your headstart. Also being isolated from old friend groups.-if you aren't onramped early you can struggle catching up to your gifted peers which can lead to self-confidence issues.And after all that even if you have everything perfectly lined up to instantly get you in your middle/upper class and financially well off parents can easily just go "fuck nah I can't be assed to give Bobby more support. He's gifted he's suppsoed to not need 'as much help' as other people do. He's smarter than them!". Those types of people are the worst people do deal with in those situations because they have a ton of anti-intellectual sentiments that they barely hide under the surface. Especially when their ego kicks in at the aspect of their boy Bobby being smarter than them at grade 10.

She claims she took a proctored Mensa test in the US, not an online test, but if that's true, she's simply making an IQ estimate as American Mensa doesn't give out scores, it just says if you did well enough to join or not. So I'm a bit suspicious that she might not have actually taken the test and did not known that. It's a very common error made by people who assume the proctored in-person test gives you a score like the online Norway Mensa test does. Given the normal standard deviation of 15 or 16, a estimated score floor of 130 or 132 would be reasonable for someone who passed the American Mensa test. It's not unreasonable to assume one did at least a little better than the absolute minimum but using an exact number like 135 is sus. She also claims that she took a test in elementary school and the results were so high, they made her take it again just to be sure. No idea if that's standard procedure or not but everything about her story sounds like someone trying to preemptively head off any doubts about her claims. If it is standard procedure for extremely high IQs, 135 doesn't qualify as that's barely over the 2SD threshold. She then goes on to do the typical tedious humble brag that IQ doesn't really matter even though she just made sure everyone knows just how high her IQ is. It all sounds like someone living out a fantasy life in their head and now they're letting it leak out into the public.
