/x/ was convinced that earth's gravity would shut off for 7 seconds like 2 hours ago today, which would have apocalyptic effectsobviously, nothing ever happened as usual, but it got me wonderingwhat would happen if it did?how bad would it be?would mountains and buildings collapse?the material in earth's core is twice as dense as it would be with no pressure, so the planet would expand and then contract, but how much would it be able to expand in such a short time, and what would be the seismic effects?
>>17035571the oceans wouldnt be pulled down by gravity so as the earth spun the water would just stay in the same place, giving everyone on land the mother of all tsunamis. we'd all drown
>>170355717 seconds would probably cause the earthquake of all time + a lot of volcanoes would probably erupt, some landslides and stuff would of course also occur but outside of that nothing would happen. I bet you could survive that pretty easily at least in the short term. In 7 seconds things just don't have lot of time to shift. Even if atmosphere wasn't there to slow things down you could only get like 20 centimeters off the ground and with air significantly less before gravity returns and pulls you back down. Human buildings would mostly survive provided they survive the earthquake. I bet that if you weren't inside a building or jumping at the time you would live trough the whole thing. Few unlucky highjumpers would perform the leap of their life before crashing back down however.
>>17035571>>17035635Earth core and mantle are already decoupledIt will flip soon
>>17035571>nothing happenedit did, but the CIA set the antigravity beam in Tennesse to reverse configuration to hide it from the normies
>>17035571>/x/ was convinced that earth's gravity would shut off for 7 secondsHow does one turn off gravity?
>>17035861aether manipulation>>17035571it got slightly weaker and you can measure it with a pendulum.
