Here's an idea that has been on my mind recently and if I wasn't a poorfag and I had access to a machine shop I would definitely try this.Build a mount on which a balanced lever can pivot around vertically.On the end of the lever you let a high focal length telescope dangle around a pivot which ensures that the telescope is always parallel with the ground. An adjustable weight at the bottom of the telescope would achieve this.As you pull down on the lever the elevation of the telescope will increase and if you're aiming it at a distant target that is partially obscured by the horizon you will both see more of the target and that the horizon will dip more and more below the line of sight of the telescope.Would this convince flat earthers? No but I think it would look pretty cool.If you make it really sturdy and use low friction bearings I think you would get a pretty smooth transition between the low and high spot.The attached video is a simulation of it.
