Well I haven't realised it because the time frames are so long, and humans spent a lot of time burning everyones books and research during the very long feudal period than we cannot be sure. One guy is positive mars is like it is because there was a nuclear event. I don't get into the technical because I cannot get hold of anything from Mars physically but despite the big words and stuff it sounds pretty convincing if you don;t understand the techincal stuff.

The universe is an entirely naturally occurring structure. We can not see the true structure we inhabit, which is funny because it has some unusual properties. For example, it has always existed, outside of time. Time is a byproduct of this structure. It's an enormous set of possible causal graphs. Mere possibility is adequate for embedded observers to observe stable reality. We're just observers inside one such causal graph.
Because the universe is in its own encapsulated space, it can make connections from all around and far. Like the seasons, some growth connections open portals to other worlds for our people to travel through.
